Incredible! I absolutely love your pictures! I will be down there in June. It will be my 5th trip with FOB. I also love photography. You have captured the essense of the people there. My son Matt will be coming with the May team and staying for a month. I am envious of you both.
livin the vida loca Hey bro, what's happening. Thing are good here. The weather is alright, not as nice as yours. Learning alot about Chicago, reading a book on the projects here, very interesting.Looks like your busy with the team, it was great to be apart of that. Played any good soccer games? If not you should. You should buy your own bakk to take with and play with the kids, but the older guys are intense. It's good fun. I played b-ball for a few hours the other day, it was great. Talk to you soon. Love ya, Bean
Beauty and oppression Yes I agree with Bean. Learn about what we are doing in the way of making life more difficult for people who work on fincas.
I hope you are well.
Love,
Emily
Good Work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello Adam,
I'm so very proud of you. Your work with the camera was frst class and the Team really enjoyed what you did as you "formed" the week on photographs.
Please keep up the good work shooting those stories that speak to you.
I loved you comment that every time you shot a photo it was a holy moment.
Enjoy the guitar!
More later, In Christ's Service with you,
Linwood
Awesome That lake was/is beautiful. What an experince. What an adventure. You should learn about the struggles of the people down there. You said you met a guy who owns a finca, do you know what that means? Fincas are where a land owner pays people next to nothin to grow crops that are for export to the U.S. The workers have to pay for there rent and for transportation. So when the people get back home they have nothing for their families, keeping the people you help poor. We can't just give charity, but we must be agents of Justice. Yuo should read I, Rigoberta Menchu it was written by that Nobel Prize winner who was speaking when you were in town. She worked for the rights of the Guatemalan people. But it would be relevant to you to read. You should also learn about Oscar Romero, and his life and death, what it meant. I'm proud of you Adam. Your photos show me the beauty of the people in Honduras, and let others here reading your blog see that the people there are like us, have diginity and do struggle in life. A picture is worth a thousand words and you photos can show the hardships of life in a country that has been oppressed by corporations in the U.S. and by our government. I loved the picture of the monastary in Antigua, I went there, but I definatly didn't capture it in like you did, that was remarkable, you should send that to National Geographic and get you self a job. I can't wait to see you bro. Things are good in Chicago. Can't wait to drive route 66 with you this summer. Bye.
I glad you got to go to Antigua. I loved it when I was there. It's awesome we have both been to Honduras and Guatemala, but it sucks that we didn't go together.
Keep it up Adam,
I really enjoy hearing about your adventures. I know it can be a pain to add to your journal all the time, but folks do enjoy it - keep going!!
estudie su español I am quite envious of you. Especially about your spanish classes. I would love to be in an enviroment that forced me to learn another language. I may go to Guatemala this summer, so maybe I will get my chance. Peace by with you. - pants
Great work! Adam, It's great to be able to read your journal and see the pictures. Our team from Farmville is just beginning the process of getting ready for our trip in June. This will be my third trip. I can't believe how wonderful Alfredo's House looks. It was only a shell last summer, when we enjoyed getting to know your Dad and Bean.
Please give them our best. Thanks for the wonderful pictures and information. Keep up the good work! Joanna Baker
MANY THANKS I am enjoying your pictures and dialogue. It is wonderful to see Casa de Alfredo completed. It was in early stages when I was there in May.
Thank You Thank you so much for such wonderful pictures and journals of the day. Reviewing your pictures brings floods of special memories from my trips with FOB. Peace be with you.
