Well, after a very long day Friday, all seven of us finally made it home. We were honestly concerned that we might not have made it back before Monday, but the Lord took care of us and got us home; we just had to be patient. We received an e-mail from Brad (the pastor of CrossChurch) this morning that said that they had 83 people at their first service last night! And more than that, 14 people tithed to the church that were not on staff!! God is faithful and is strong when we are weak. San Diego is an absolutely [View Full Entry]

So, we're sitting here in the San Diego airport waiting to go home. To make a long story short, weather was/is bad in Chicago, they put us on a new flight (but not all of us), so 4 people are headed to XNA and the other two are landing in Little Rock tonight. Hooray for free Wi-Fi. This is not a fun story though, so we'll talk about yesterday. In the morning we headed out to the University of California, San Diego. It was a large beautiful campus full of those who are lost. We walked around for several hours and [View Full Entry]

So, today was our day off after two full days of walking to 1875 homes across San Diego. So what do we do after walking for six hours each day? Go to the San Diego Zoo where you walk everywhere! Even though we're a bunch of college kids, we were definitely excited to go to the San Diego Zoo today. We met up with David Lachut's sister at the zoo, so she got to come with us and was gracious enough to get us discounted tickets! One of the great things about our tickets is that they included the bus tour [View Full Entry]

Chris fell asleep at the dinner table.
We had a very busy day today. We got to sleep a little late and we didn't have to be anywhere until 9:30. Hooray! We met at Brad's house and Steve gave a short devo. There were new groups from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Knoxville, Tennessee. After getting some more "product" (aka door hangers) we headed out for a long day of going door-to-door. For the first part of the morning we knocked out 375 houses. For lunch we went to In-N-Out Burger. College students and cheap, good food is a wonderful mix. We met up with Brad and he was [View Full Entry]

And day two of our trip is coming to an end. We started this morning by going to a church for orientation as to what we needed to do for today, and then we were sent out. The six of us hung door knockers on 905 houses today. That's a grand total of half of all the the houses we were given three days to cover. Go ahead and admit it: we rock. Just kidding. It was really a God thing, that we had the stamina to cover all those houses, and that none of us passed out from dehydration. Cool [View Full Entry]

A group of us from BCM/FBC Fayetteville are in San Diego to help plant a church, Cross Church in a local high school. The pastor, Brad Graves, was the pastor of the church in New Hampshire that Steve Moore also helped with. They're first service is on Easter Sunday. They've had a lot of obstacles to overcome and we are here to try to help get the word out. So, after a few minor delays (including one of our names being the same as one on the no fly list) we all safely arrived in San Diego with all our luggage. [View Full Entry]
