Dinner in Albuqueque Thanks for the info on food and birds and the generous invitation to meet your Dad and Stepmom, unfortunately we don't check messages often and we're thru the area before you know it. New Mexico was neat.
ft. union I love the pictures of Fort Union. I'd love to come across that on one of MY road trips. My sister just left New Mexico on a road trip out this direction.
another suggestion Okay...I know I already bombarded you with things to do and see in NM...but if you have a chance, another place you both would really like is Bosque del Apache. It's a bird sanctuary near Socorro, NM. (And the Owl Cafe in Socorro has great green chile cheeseburgers.)
(ok...I'm making my own mouth water...and I already ate dinner!!!)
Dinner in Albuquerque Hey Debbie and Frank - not sure how long you're in NM, but if you'd like a super yummy NEW Mexican meal, may I recommend a restaurant called El Pinto? And, if you're up for company, my dad and stepmom (Darrell and Karla) would love to have dinner with you guys most any time. Their phone # at home is 505-296-4626.
Anyway...the restaurant is very good. And if you don't like spicy, you can ask for things sans green or red chile or you can ask for mild green or red chile. And you can always ask for the chile on the side (that's what I would recommend if you're not sure about the spiciness). Also, make sure to try some sopapillas while you're in NM.
gps sounds like you're off to a great start. I always love the beginning. Todd always laughs at me because I really believe vacation air smells different. Our GPS is named Ellen (magellen) hehehe
stopping? Aren't you guys stopping anywhere? You have missed a lot of really nice places and interesting sights.
You are retired. You can stop as long as you want whereever you want!
Besides, when you stop, we might get some really nice pictures taken for those of us left back home.
Greetings from the Outer Banks. Ivan and I have been enjoying out time at the beach so far. I decided to spend a few hours at a coffee shop with wireless internet available and thought I'd check to see how your trip was going. Looks like it is going well. I'll follow along. Take care.
Your trip I loved reading you last year's trip to Alaska. I will be very interested to read this year's too. I want to visit many of youyou have listed. You might want to think of adding Crater Lake In Oregon if you are going to the Redwood Forest. Just a thought. I have been to Crater Lake it is very nice.
I found your blog today. I enjoyed reading every post. Wow, how awesome to have traveled so far for so long! I will be anxious to see which of Alaska's towns you liked the most.
Photos A couple of your photos caught my eye so had to take a closer look. Love the black and white photo and the yellow leaves are so pretty in the other photo. Just wanted you to know that I liked your photos and rated them! Keep travel blogging...so pretty.
Alaska and WWII Doug's grandfather was a medic in the army in WWII and was stationed in Alaska for some time. He never saw any "action" while in Alaska, but had some interesting stories of his time there. He went to the European theatre too...after Alaska.
We're enjoying reading about your travels and discoveries! It sounds like you are having a wonderful time! We're praying you'll continue to have a great time and enjoy each other! :) love you guys!
FANTASTIC Hey! I thought for sure you and Frank would trade in for the old school bus - but I know that y'all have quite attached to the "CT"! Keep sending your log and pictures; I'm ready to equip our Trooper, but Paula still doesn't like the cold weather. Take care and be safe

Place my order I want to put in my order for the book--I imagine one of those oversize coffee table versions with all of the pictures in high gloss and full size. At the very least a set of over-size post cards.
wow YOur stunning photos are making us long for a trip to Canada. My parents had told us how gorgeous Lake Louise is, but you've give the best possible visual "commericial"! Some day maybe we'll make it. We hope you're still able to soak in such inconceivable beauty without taking it for granted. God is so creative!!!
WOW! Great photos and text! I'm just getting a chance to get caught up--I think the last time I was on the site you hadn't made it past Cleveland--certainly a big difference now! It looks like you will have enough material for a book when you are finished.
