Lovely photos Hi Carrie.
Wow, what an adventure you are on. The photos are amazing. Tried to find you on Linkedin and someone led me to your blog. Enjoy your travels. Kathy
Hello! I was asked about you today - I thought I have no idea where you are so I googled you & came up with this amazing blog! I am looking forward to reading about your adventures.
Where exactly did you go? Hey,
interesting blog-entry. I was in Shanghai 3 years ago and was walking through the Shikumen, not aware, that they would be demolished soon. Now I am back in Shanghai and cannot remember, where I went. If you have any clue as to where you went exactly (so I can find it on a map) I would really appreciate it! You can contact me through vieleweg"addfifthletterofthealphabethere"@gmail.com
It has been awhile since I commented on your blog. Just been very busy, but really enjoy looking at all of your pictures and reading about your adventures. Looks like you are making the best of your time and seeing everything you can. What a journey. love Aunt Penny
Exercises I am doing a lot of running on the treadmill which may not really help in this area. I am also using the weight machines in the gym which I have to admit make a big difference. Any exercise for the quads is a plus. My mom and a friend came over to China for a visit and my suggestion for them was to actually get into the position several times a day to build up the muscles. My mom said it worked and was able to use the squatty when she was here with no problems. Her friend stuck to the handicap stalls to avoid the whole squatty issue. Thanks so much for the response to the blog.
Exercises? Having made frequent trips to Asia, I am very well acquainted with the squatty potty. However, as I am getting older, I really need the exercises for my legs. Could you send your suggestions? Your comment about your legs when it was time to stand up was hilarious...and SO true!!
What a trip! This whole trip looked just amazing. The great wall was really something to see. I am so glad you guys are getting to
see so many places and do so many things. Love Aunt Judy
Shanghai Tour The trip sounds wonderful, what a treat to spend time with your Mom & Ms. Joyce. What a great adventure for all. We are anxiously awaiting our turn, a trip of a lifetime.
Love, Mom
Hello! Sorry it has taken me so long to comment. I think I finally have my act together. It's a rainy cold day so I am trying to catch up on all my office stuff and things I have been wanting to do. I am so proud of both of you. This is a great site, and the pictures and stories are fascinating. love you both. Les & Penny Wright
Pandas What a cool experience. I have been following your blog and it is all so exciting. I think that is the neatest that you got to be so close to the pandas.

When we set up our blog in 2009, we called it the Traveling Stones not knowing how true that would be. We expected to spend two years in China with Jason’s job and then find our way back home. Our stay lasted almost four years and then we found ourselves relocating from MA to NJ. Asia was a wonderful area of the world to live in and travel in and we will continue to post blogs and pictures of the things we are seeing and doing in our future travels. ... full info
