I'm a guy who was recently bit by the travel bug. I was only sick from the bite for about 24 hours, then I travelled abroad for the first time. I spent 3 and a half months in India. Before that I had only seen Canada and the US. Of those trips I visited Montreal (5 weeks), Niagara Falls (twice), and 2 sports road trips to the States. Next stop.... Korea! Vancouver: The trip before the journey Said my good-byes to Mom and Dad (and Lily the dog too). Packed all things needed for a year in Korea (I hope). Then it was off to Vancouver to say good-bye to my sisters and friends. But first.... lets get this pesky chipped tooth fixed. Now, I don't mind the dentist at all. My dentist in Vancouver even brings his dog in to work with him and he helps comfort everybody. (Besides being his cute doggy self) Unfortunately he was getting a walk on the beach when I went in. Lets get to the teeth. Some people may find drill like sounds and grinding frightening. Once last time. This blog has me back in the North at the tail end of my trip. Inga and I ventured on a 40 hour train ride from Chennai to Varanasi, on to Khajaraho, back to Varanasai (where Inga left for Calcutta, then Thailand and parts beyond), then Agra (Taj day trip), Bikaner (second coming in Rajasthan), and finally back to Delhi for the journey home. AGAIN, I wrote this after getting home... you get the picture. For this section Inga and I travelled from Palolem, Goa to Kannur, Kalpeta (including the Wayanad Wildlife park), Cochin, Munnar, Kumily, Alleppy, Quillon, Varkala, Kanyakumari, Madurai, Pondicherry and Chennai. Again, I wrote this after the trip. I arrived in Goa on November 17, and stayed in the area until December 4. While in Goa I stayed in Arambol, Anjuna, Panjim (with a day trip to Old Goa), Hampi (not in Goa, but in Karnataka) and finally Palolem. (All places visited in that order) I went to Arambol first and reunited with Katherine (New Zealand), whom I met in Delhi and went site seeing with for a day there. Through her I met Sharon and her mother Hazel (Scotland), and we toured Anjuna, Panjim and Hampi together. In Hampi I toured with Kate (England). Then back to Goa and Palolem, where I met Inga (Slovakia), and we toured the rest of the South together.... read more

OK. I know its best to do a travel blog WHILE traveling, but I never learned about travel blog until almost 2 months into my 3 and a half month tour. So here we go. This blog covers the early days of my trip, from touchdown and culture shock in Delhi up to Mumbai. In between I traveled from Delhi to Chandigargh, Shimla, Tattapani, Mandi, Rewalsar Lake, McLeod Ganj, Amritsar, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ahmedabad, Diu, Palithana, Baroda, and then on to Mumbai. (In that order) I landed in Delhi on October 5 and was in Mumbai up to November 16.
