Eggs on Toast
Thanks Tammy! I think you're right about toad in a hole. I called them eggs with hats because that's what Russ called them once upon a time. This morning we ordered eggs on toast in an English pub, which is really toad in a hole, without the hole (or, toad on a hat). I've had a lot of eggs on toast over the past year by my own accord without ever realizing it was a specifically British tradition. I suppose you can't order it in a restaurant back home. I like it with Frank's Red Hot Sauce, although it would seem that 'Brown sauce' is the sauce of choice here.

Toad in a hole
Hi Sarah and Tim, Sounds like you two are having a great time already. Too bad about the rain, but it sounds pretty typical of the motherland, haha. Good thing you brought rain jackets. I didn't know what you were talking about when you said "Eggs with hats", until I saw the picture, that is. I think another name for that meal is "Toad in a hole", which I think is just about the most creative and fun name for a breakfast dish ever! Good job, Tim! Enjoy the Cirque, the RCM Symphony, and the rest of your trip! Cheerio, Tamara

TIPS!
Hey! So glad you guys made it safe! I love that you have already seen cool things....movie being filmed whaaaat?! Sam says to make sure that you don't tip in pubs. Apparently it's actually insulting since no one does it and you're implying that bartenders need the money. You can tip in some restaurants, but only restaurants. Weird. Have fun getting over the jet lag! At least there should be lots of late night places open in London. Fun! Love to you both! Jenn
