Hola again, Thank you for sharing this maravilloso trip!! I also had the beautiful opportunity to visit Palenque and Cascadas de Agua Azul, Chiapas. I remember that when i finally made it to the top of the Palenque pyramid and look around I started to cry, it was a very spiritual feeling. I was amazed with the beauty of the place and very happy to know that my country has amazing and magical places. Chiapas may be one of poorest states in Mexico, but for sure is one of the richest in natural and human beauty. The natives are so friendly and noble!! Gracias una vez mas !!

Hi, I just want to thank you for the beautiful memories you brought to me. I am from Juarez Chihuahua, but I came to PA for 8 years already and I miss Chihuahua a lot!! I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Batopilas, The Gran canyon, Satevo, and el Lago de Arareco when I lived in Juarez, and it was just amazing!!. That long 5 hour ride to Batopilas was the worse and the best adventure. Thank you for your blog it is special very special and good luck in all your trips, I wish I could do the same. Y arriba Chihuahua!!

Hi Paul and Casey, It was a pleasure reading your bit about Peru, I was 5 months pregnant when we did Peru, and it brought back happy memories reading your Blog. I thought i was going to die in Cusco and basically wanted to leave the minute no, second we got off the plane. I wasn't allowed the coco leaves, so nature took care instead. I was soo nauseus. We had to cancel the Inca Trail on doc's recomendations, and it is good to read how beautiful the trail was. I am ok for missing it, as we spent 3 nights in Aqua Caliente resting and looking into the local life with lovely food, the healthiest I ate during my whole pregnancy. Don't know where you are now, but have fun, enjoy and keep sending updates. I love them. Have a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2007, lots of love Martina

Thanks for the comment. I went to Wikipedia where I found that indeed Coca Cola does now own 50% of Inca Kola (but Inca Kola Company gained bottling rights for Coke products in Peru) plus learned lots of other interesting tidbits. Ecuador is just so colorful and Beautiful!
Yes.... you still have sooooo much more to see of this AMAZING little country. One thing I want to correct you is that "Panama Hats" are NOT from Panama they're 100% from Ecuador they're known as Panama Hats because they were sold in the Panama Canal many years ago by Ecuadorians, but unfortunately due to the tourists that bought them there that name was given. Weird that you didn't learn about that!!! every Ecuadorian knows that and you'll read it on ALL the Ecuador Trip books! In spanish they're called sombrero de Paja Toquilla nobody calls tthem Sombrero de Panama

Totally cleansed
Wow, what an experience, with the cleansing of body and soul, you must be ready to continue your journey with renewed stamina, it made great reading, when you get back to Australia, if I see you lurking down the paddock on all fours I will just assume you are reliving this event. After having a horse at home nearly all of your life Paul I must say what a pleasure it was at last to see you sitting astride one, you look so comfortable and relaxed on it, all I can say Casey is well done to have managed to get him to take the ride. Take care..Mum.

Quito is great
I just got back from a long tour of South America and after reading your blog I thought I would suggest I couple things to you. 1) Check out the Secret Garden hostel in Quito. It is probably one of my favorite stops in all of SA. 2) Be sure to do some biking while you are in the area. I would check out the flying (or biking? I can't remember) Dutchman. I did a couple tours with them and they were great. 3) Hike Gua Gua Pachinchia (forget proper spelling). It is a great hike in the area and more rewarding than Cotopaxi (although you HAVE to go there too). enjoy! Noel My blog: www.travelblog.org/bloggers/wiggy

I didn't know you cared so much about me. I was going to say if you and Paul moved to Panama I could come visit you because I could find something to eat at the food court AND get a whole body liposuction. Hi Jen. Thanks for checking out out blog. The name of the place in San Miguel is Parador de San Sebastian. It's only about two hours from Guanajuato to SMA by bus. I'm not sure how long it is from Divisadero, but it's a bit of a journey. Most folks we talked to went through Zacatecas (where you'd probably want to spend the night), but we took the longer route on the Pacific Coast. As for finding places to stay, we used our guide book some (which isn't Lonely Planet, and I wouldn't recommend it) as well as talking to other travelers and just wandering around once we got to a place. Hope this info helps and that you have a terrific trip. If you have the time, I highly recommend the bus ride to Batopilas (as well as the train trip-but check out the condition of the track, I just heard from other travelers that the track between Creel and Divisadero recently collapsed). --Casey and Paul

Hello Travel Bugs, Could you tell me the name of the beautiful little hacienda you stayed at in San Miguel de Allende? It looks/sounds great! Also, how far is Guanajuato from San Miguel de Allende? And...how far would it be to Guanajuato if we started from Divisadero to check the train ride out? We have approx. 6 days. Howdy- put that down for a missed opportunity for catch up over a meal and bintang- I just got back last night after 3 weeks in Bali. Imagine too walking through the laneways of Kuta and running into TZ and his family!! Small world! Awesome photos- safe to say you dont see many elephants and monkeys whilst sitting on a crate having a beer on Kuta Beach or during the evening at Maccarone Bar and singing Karaoke at the Bounty! I must venture out and look into the cultural side of the island one day soon............ Buffy
