Walking the Camino... I plan to walk the Camino in 2016 and have been reading the blogs of fellow TBers to learn from their experiences. My latest post has my plans based upon that research. I just ran across your blog and am looking forward to reading of your blogs from Castrojerez to Santiago. I would think one of your lessons learned would be to start out slowly and increase your distance as your body adapts. Please confirm or advise otherwise. I would love to learn your other lessons.
Hi there
We have changed blog applications. We are on the Camino now check us out on www.rammells.wordpress.com
Not a bad idea starting out slowly. John Brierly book is very good but has big distances as most people only have so much time. If you have plenty we would suggest planning your trip for max 20 - 25km/day. If there is one think we have learnt it is that it seems the same tiredness no matter how long the day is 15,25 or 30. It's a mental thing. Get on the road by 0630 then by lunchtime you will have broken it's back. Look forward to catching up with you on our new blog.

Best wishes Hope all goes well. It would be great to catch up with you while you're in Europe but I realise this might be difficult (impossible :-)). Enjoy the trip.
Great Blog Hi Mark/Fiona,
I finally had a chance to sit down and read the whole Blog - actually, I intended to have a quick read but it was so good I read the whole thing.
Two initial impressions:
1. I think you were very tired at the beginning as the posts were very short but you could see the enthusiasm and energy coming back through the trip
2. You're a great writer - interesting, funny, good pace. I really enjoyed reading it. Now you know what you could do in retirement if you run out of things to do that is (Yeah right :-)
Hope settling back into 'normal' life is going well.
Love
Rodney
How come I wasn't invited.!!! Colin sent me your blurb. Have fun but don't forget where home is.
Bring me a doggie bag of Paella. Love from someone who is huddled over the woodburner. Shirley xxx
Because you would have been too quick for us!! Food is amazing and so cheap. We are having a wonderful time, if only Fiona was not in so much pain it would be even better
I Feel For You Mark - having been diverted from Akld-Wgtn back to Akld, spent a night and then had morning flight cancelled, so picked up a rental and drove 8 hours to Wgtn, i feel for you. Who said flying these days is easy? I think this is where we're meant to say to ourselves "it's the journey, not the destination that counts"!!
