Travel Blog Posts
On my last day in Chile, in the city of Puerto Montt, I had a very unfortunate turn of events, which gets to why I now no longer haves pictures on my blog. Yes I got robbed for the first time in the 6 months I have been traveling. I think it´s actually a pretty funny story so I thought I would share it with you all on my blog... Talia and I went to Puerto Montt to look into catching a ferry boat through Patagonia down to the glaciers in the far south. After some searching around and mixed reviews we discovered that it just changed from high season to low season at the start of April and now it is not possible to sail past the glaciers and the boat is crap and kind ... read more
It has been a long time since I last wrote a blog, and a lot has happened in that time, so I don´t even know where to begin right now or what to write about. Right now it is cold outside though so I have some time to pass in the warm internet cafe. Lets see... Well I am in Argentina right now, but after Bolivia I passed through Chile. When Talia was living in New Orleans she met 2 guys there, Cristian and Javier, visiting from Santiago, Chile. They are now back in Santiago and we got in touch with them there and we all had a great time hanging out in the city together for about 4 days or so. There was not much to do during the day, but at night things came ... read more

Haha, I had to write that as the title because when we told Tia Julia we were going to Lake Titicaca that is what she told us in response and I thought it was great. Ever since I learned about Lake Titicaca in spanish class in 7th grade I was very intrigued by it (I don´t know if my level of maturity has changed that much because I still love the name). I actually learned where the name came from while visiting the Isla del Sol (an island in the lake). Anyway Titicaca is the Aymara word for rock with the face of a puma on it. This puma face was quite a stretcher... with one ear, an open mouth, one eye open and the other eye was a slit. Then the triangle next to ... read more
Talia and I just got back from Machu Picchu and we had the most amazing time! The expedition was definitely one of the best experiences of my life. Right now the computer I am using is horrible and I am having a lot of trouble typing so I will try and write later, but for now at least I have pictures up.... read more

Hola! So far everything is going great in Peru. I am surprised at how easy and comfortable it is to travel here compared with a lot of places I went in Central America, so that is making my tansition back into travel mode a smooth one. Now I have to get back into the flow of writing blogs again, which is a lot more challenging sometimes than you would expect. As I am sure I said many times before, there is no way I can write everything we are doing and I think that would probably get boring anyways, so I will just try to write highlights. Talia and I have not been here very long (even though it feels like I have been here awhile already), and we spent most of our time so far ... read more

Hola a todos! I hope everyone had a great new year. I had a wonderful time in Nicaragua over the holidays-- I met two sisters, Kathryn and Monica, who are around my age and from Canada, and we pretty much traveled together from Christmas to New Years. It made my holidays so much better to be in their great company! (oh and Kathryn and Monica if you read this you should send me your email again because I lost it already) The super tranquilo vibe at the Laguna de Apoyo (where we were for Christmas) set the pace for the rest of the week. I became so relaxed there... laying in the sun, reading, napping in the hammoks, taking strolls through the woods, and swimming and kayaking in the lake. Plus the place I was staying ... read more
Greetings and love to all! I realized that I was wearing myself down a bit from moving around so much so I decided to take it easy in Granada and it has done me right. I have gotten some good rest and relaxation and now I feel more myself again and I am ready to keep going. I spent my days here strolling around town and stopping to have talks with some locals along the way. I stroll and chat and stroll and chat... it's really quite nice. I have met some great people here who have shared a lot with me about life in Nicaragua. A lot of the people I end up talking with are Sandanistas and they tell me about the war and the revolution, and often times how they don't like America, ... read more
