Enchanting Turkey! 10 days on and off a bus :) I recently visited Turkey and want to share my exhilarating experiences. I started off with Istanbul- where I spent 2 days in the Asian side called 'Sultanahmet' and 2 days towards the end in the European side at Taksim square. Istanbul is the only city in the world cut between Asia & Europe! Different cultures and a varied atmosphere greets you at both ends. The famous 'Blue Mosque' domineers the Sutanahmet area and opposite it stands the overpowering 'Hagia Sophia' which was built as a church and then coonverted to a mosque. The Blue Mosque has intricate designs and stained glass windows inside the praying area- all in Turquoise (incidently the name Turkey is derived from here).
