Loving it! Ah I am in good need of a travel trip having read yours. I'm getting itchy feet from just reading - don't worry Life's not changed without you, it'll just be duller when you return (obviously because we won't have the pleasure of your blog to read!) ;o)
Looking forward to seeing you when you're back.
Have you come across any "you're the weakest link" yet? That's the phrase that I got when in India, I think they'd just learnt it. I felt ashamed that our greatest national ginger export pre Mark Howard was bloody Ann Robinson.
Continue to have the type of fun we all long for in our 30s on a Tuesday afternoon. But then I did just get a spot of powder snow and sunshine at the weekend so I can't complain!
Love Bexs
Not long now Hi both,
Happy to hear that you are still loving your travels - must say India looks superb!
We're all well and gearing up for Easter, hope you have a good one and lookig forward to seeing you on your return!

Thalis I remember sinahoukville with fond memories, beautiful place. I also remember a howling journey from cambodia into thailand. Look forward to hearing about India. get stuck in to the Thali!

message for Tim and Caroline Bowron Good to hear from you, and thanks for posting a message. If you let me know your email address I will add you to the distribution list for the blog - my email is mark.howard157@btinternet.com. Haven't checked out your blog yet but will do soon. Have thought about tattoos but I am not sure any would suit - apart from a spider's web across my eye perhaps!! We really enjoy writing the blog so it is always good to hear that you guys enjoy reading it too. Casper
Time Flies! I can't believe you are about to embark on the last leg of your trip - and I'm sure you can't either! Well, all the best in India and Mark, DON'T let any of that water pas your lips in any way shape or form - remember your sister when she was there, so watch it! Great pictures.
Elephant Camp - Message for Woodsy Chris, the camp is about 1 hour north of Chiang Mai and is run by a Thai lady known as Lek. It is well known and most of the travel agencies in Chiang Mai should be able to organise a trip for you. That is how we found out about it and got to go. As you will find out if you do go, many Asian elephants work 8 hours a day with very little rest. They also have to work during pregnancy and very soon after, and there is no retirement age - many elephants keep on working until they drop. Elephants are sociable intelligent animals and need a better life than this. They are also not weight bearing animals and the carriages strapped on their backs which typically carry 2 tourists can cause damage over a period of time - particularly if they are worked for 8 hours a day. But the real trauma for an elephant is the process employed to break it. I cannot remember the name for it but we saw footage in a documentary and it was extremely harsh. You might say that it is part of Thai culture but there are some things which are not worth preserving. Here endeth my little sermon!!
What a great Page! Hi Mark and Sue, your travel reports are so nice. And the photos are amazing. I visit it many times. Now I regret to didnt see the elephant camp and the mekong river. Maybe next time. Thanks again for the great time we had in chiang mai. It was very nice to met you two. Mark, thank you for being so handsome ;-). And Sue, thank you for this lovely girl talk at our last evening. Take care! Im looking forward to read your next news! Greetings from the cold and wet switzerland....
Love the blog Hi guys. Great blog. Where did you get to see the elephants playing? I wanna have me some of that instead, and will join you in boycotting riding elephants if it's true that they get treated badly.

Laos Laos You're very brave drinking the Lao Lao, from what I remember it is pretty pokey stuff! We tended to stick to the Beer Laos and the occasional shake whilst tubing down the river!
Can't wait to sample Casper's lush Pad Thai, mmmmm!
Enjoy Cambodia. We recommend you stay by the lake in Phnom Phen, a very short bike ride from the centre. There's a couple of mellow hostels there.

Pushing the boat out Well, you excelled this time - and Mark, of course you got food poisoning, I'm surprised you didn't get it again when you dined with Porn Star! All looks so exotic - wish I could see just a small part in real life, but this sharing is nearly as good.
