Fabulous Photos I'm so glad I've been given this opportunity to get to "know" you through your ongoing blog. Your pictures are amazing and the story you're telling is inspiring. I can't wait to meet you in person when you come to Pecks. Take care, Rebecca
prayers for you Yesterday at church Pastor Tom announced that Tony had called.
He asked us to pray for your safety and your travels. You have opened up a whole new adventure in life by your smiles and dedication to helping others. Thank you for sharing your talents with us and the people in Africa. We all know Tony will make a great minister. Starla, you are a star --- you give and give. Thank you for being sensitive to others, nursing others, and listening to all of us. What a great team the two of you make! love, Beth
WOW I just finished my sermon for tomorrow and decided to see the latest. What an experience you guys are having! I'm sure you are both a blessing to those you come into contact with. The pictures are outstanding! Blessings, Pastor Tom
The experiences just keep getting better and better! The photos are amazing and I really think you should do photography as a second income. Some of the nature shots would look beautiful hanging on a wall or on artsy greeting cards.
Hi Starla, Wow! Such great adventures! I'm loving the pictures and stories. I agree with your mom about the pictures of the "theatre", though! I don't need any reminders of my experiences with burn patients!
wundaful! here is a song ... sung for you in my best African accent - wundaful - wundaful, Jesus is to Me ... counselor ... prince of peace ... mighty God is he! Lovin the updates ... man time is flying by! You guys look great! I praise God that he is keeping you well! Even as you wander through peoples backyards.
Thanks to invite us to your blog Hi Starla - So surprise to receive your email from Kenya. It's so nice to visit your blog, and I am sure that everyone in our 07' RN class enjoy your journal as I do. By just reading your journals and viewing pictures that you posted, I am witnessing the growth of a still "new" RN. I felt my heart was pounding with a mixed feeling of "I wish I were there too" and "Do I have a big heart as Starla's?"
I admire you and Tony's courage and the passion to serve people. You and Tony are definitely in my prayer list now.
"malaria lake" How 'bout that "malaria lake"? Sounds like a nice place for a picnic:-) You guys have had such great adventures. Praise God for all that you've been experiencing!
I've been keeping an eye on all the news out of General Conference this week. Tony will have to catch-up when he returns...but if you can, remember to keep it in prayer. Pax
OH MY ! Hey guys . WOW ! I am so proud of you guys. This all looks like such an exciting adventure. I really can't wait to hear all about it in person ;) Stay safe and have a blast. Tony, remember you used to drive through the ghetto and came out with out a scratch. Whats a little mud slide right ;D I love you guys .
Great Stuff boy do I remember the Kenya roads ... like driving through ravines. This looks like the true African experience! Tony you like like an expert up there with the interpreter. I love the pics of the Camilions ... what a great shot where the claw (?) of the one is holding the horn of the other - it a good way to keep your guys in line. Love ya!
What a story! Yeah, Starla, you win! Your story is awesome! And even though we have our Land Rover experiences to remember, I bet there was a whole lot more praying going on in yours than ours so many years ago! :) Poor Tony!!! You are breaking him into the missionary life with vengeance! I loved the questions from the students...did yall get to answer any of them? I'm so glad you got to travel with Tony, what a great thing to share. And what was the potty thing? I am not sure exactly what I was looking at,,,,but not sure if I really wanted to know what I was looking at. I LOVE YOUR BLOGS! THey are my highlight every day. I love you both dearly. Mom
the roads! Starla, now you know what we were talking about!!!! Isn't it fun :) This last summer we would just hang on to the bars above our heads and pray that we would make it up to the house and back down to the hospital. It looks like you may be traveling in the same jeep we were in this summer. There was a sticker on the back window about proper preperation...
Happy Birthday Tony Tell him we wish him a happy birthday too! It looks like you had a cool weekend. I love the pics! The girls and I have been praying for you and have you and Tony's pic on our fridge. Love and miss you!
Everytime I check my email and see that there is a travel blog addition, I'm so excited because I know that there will be wonderful pictures and updates on your adventures! Happy birthday Tony! Starla, I'm sure all your nursing experience there will really shine on your resume when it comes times to get a job in TN. Keep the updates coming....we love them all!
Greetings from your new family at Pecks We were glad to see the photos and news of your trip that Mack shared on Sunday. Know that you and the work you are doing are in our prayers.
God speed,
Debbie
Happy Belated Birthday! We both wish Tony a very Happy Belated 30th. We're glad you were able to celebrate with other missionaries and volunteers, although I'm sure it wasn't the same as playing laser tag at Bullwinkles!
We will continue to pray that the rest of your trip is filled with blessings and that you don't have any more hallucinations that lead to crazier misadventures :-)
Take care and God Bless,
Stacy and Anthony
Awesome entry! Wow, this sounds so amazing! Praying for you guys; your ministry is so important to the Lord. I hope I can check this blog at work (I'm at home in Knoxville now) each day and keep up with you both.
