Jack and I arrived in Munich today after a restful evening last night on board a Lufthansa jet. Restful partly from waking at 3 on Wednesday to help overcome jet lag (Jack) and partly from copious glasses of wine (Sophie)! l've fallen in love with Germany. The people are gracious. The buildings are fairytale, patina domes and colorful murals gilded with gold. Spectacular! As Jack says, "living in Munich is like living in a museum." We had short walk this evening to Marienplatz for dinner at the Ratskeller where we dined on white asparagus and bratwurst and Weiner schnitzel and Munchner Apfelkucherl. Amazing meal for my first night in Bavaria. I've also fallen in love, again, with Jack. He is speaking expert German and getting loads of things accomplished for us including negotiating European SIM cards
