It's not that we don't love you... We are all missing you and looking forward to the first 50 photos (that's the human endurance limit), but you seem to court disaster, so we were thinking perhaps you should just keep traveling. London just wouldn't work as well under water or exploded or cracked in half or drowned in a plague of frogs or whatever else will happen (but not directly to you) when you land in Heathrow.
Do take care please, and keep having fun

Safe and sound We have been keeping an eye on your route, very glad to hear you are both ok, the disaster in japan seems to be never ending. Hope you got to LA safely and enjoy your last few days of your trip. Looking forward to seeing you soon and hearing all your tales! Lots of love, alex and rob x x x
Dangerous world Hi Crazy Adventurers
Volcanic activity, earthquakes, tsunamis ,coconuts. It's a dangerous world out there. Richmond may be a bit dull after your trip to a parallel universe but at least it is safe. Look forward to seeing you soon, though your blog has made me want to zoom off to Hawaii.
Tree house Very cool living in a tree house - I could do with one of those here in the Gabon jungle. Wanna see the that lava tube too. What next - a spot of surfing?
Tsunami Alert Update All, apart from multiple surges and retreats of seawater, thankfully all appeared to pass without significant incident in the Hawaiin islands last night, although we all waited with baited breath between 3:00 and 5:00 this morning. We understand that there is an ongoing major impact on life and property in Japan and as many of the visitors to Waikiki are Japanese, especially at this time of year, there is general concern among them about the health and wellbeing of their friends and family. We are due to fly out of Honolulu on Monday lunchtime local time and will be in LA for 5 days before flying back to the UK. Simon and Deborah.
Hawaii Tsunami All
Please note that we left Hilo in Big Island (Hawaii) earlier today and are now in Waikiki, Honolulu on Oahu Island. Whilst we are near the coast, we are not currently in an evacuation zone. We are also in a hotel some way from the beach and are on the 8th floor, so any personal risks are currently low, and we are advised to stay put.
We will post an update after 3AM local time (1PM UK time) which is when the tsunami is estimated to hit the Hawaiin islands. Our best estimate of the situation is that we are at a low risk personally but clearly we may be subject to some disruption in the days ahead.
We will keep you all updated.

Adopted dog I'm an experienced dog sitter. I could have helped out. Definitely something to think about next time you venture into canine adoption....you never know when I might come in useful on a holiday like this.
Extreme Looks like you are having a wild time. Can we expect a new branch of Ranelagh? i.e. Ranelagh Extreme Sports Division 1? I'm looking forward to joining in when you come home. I have lined up some base jumping, free rock climbing and parachuting for your return. Hope that's ok?
Does it get any better! You are doing some amazing and awesome things and I am incredibly envious. I do want to see all the photos when you get back! Not quite sure how your next holiday is going to live up to this one though! You both look so well and brown. I am very jealous of all your runs in the sun and on the beach - I am training in the cold and with some horrible head winds - roll on summer! Glad you were not near the earthquake area. Take care. Penny
Greetings Hi Simon and Deborah,
I have been checking out some of your blog entries which make me want to go back to NZ again. Great to see what a brilliant time you are having. Simon - you always tell me to send your regards to the Colonel....you'll be pleased to know that I am not in Libya with the other poor Brits who are stuck in the desert; I am in hot and steamy Gabon for a change. I think (hope) the world will be saying 'goodbye' to the Colonel instead soon.
Keep having fun,
Tony
Ooooo thank you Hurrah - just found your van blog lurking in my spam folder! Hurrah and thank you - I thought your Maui was hugerer! Well, 3.3m longer than the Roma so quite big..... Looks positively luxurious and v. v. tidy. Nice.
Rapids, deep pools, hot water, muddy water.... Glad to hear you have been vanning away from the sites and experiencing a bit of wildness. We've had a wild Ember party here today and raised a glass to you two - thank you for the sheep!
Christchurch Earthquake Seems like we are never far from a natural disaster, but luckily we are in the other (North) island and will be heading out from here on our next leg.
We have been watching events in Christchurch unfold with horror this PM and are sharing the huge sense of loss with Kiwis here. It is amazing to think we were looking at building a few weeks ago that are now in ruins.
Thanks for your messages of concern but we are safe and well here.
from cold and rainy Bournemouth Hello you two - NZ scenery looks spectacular. Hope you are enjoying more of it in your second camper.... Dartmoor rain is keeping me awake in my camper van... I can recommend ear plugs to keep rain noise out if you are troubled by precipitation-strike on the van roof. Works for me. And cuts out the troublesome noise of the alarm waking me for another day of cooking veggie food and smiling at veggie customers. The great thing about working in a veggie cafe is stopping by at the Spar on the way home from work and then walking home eating a hot steak and mushroom pie. Lush. Off to your place end of Feb and looking forward to a bit of garden tidying and metrollops visiting. Love to you both P xxxxx
Nice tan Finally seeing a nice tan on you pale pommies!
looks like you're having great fun. We've got cold wet blustery weather here and contemplating my 20miler tomorrow!
time is going so quickly though, can't believe you've been away 2months almost.
Love catching up on your trip and seeing the sense of humour is unchanged!!
Greatings from blighty Hi you two. You do seem to be having a lovely time and loads more of it yet to come. I used to think I was lucky to have my break at Xmas and all my various bike trips. I am now feeling decidely over-worked and under-holidayed. Can you throw in a mini disaster to the blog even if you have to make it up ! to make everyone in wet England feel better. I am in awe of your bungy jumping, except you didn't jump did you - weren't you pushed ? I would pay not to have to jump. Have a lovely time, the photos are great. Derek
Deborah and I are planning to go on a world trip from December 2010 to March 2011. We are visiting Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii, and Los Angeles. We want to keep our family and friends in touch with our adventures, although blogs will be brief!
