Well it may have taken 30 years...but finally Brett & I are adventuring off Australian shores to see and explore the big and exciting world. Although it may only be a 5week trip, I am hoping this will be the first of many, inspiring us to explore more corners of the world.

2 September 2009 will see us take the big step of boarding our very first international flight... 1st Destination: Heathrow Airport, London.

Then its off to Scotland to explore the wonderful city of Edinburgh and its famous castle and dungeons, journey into the Highlands and emmerse ourselves in the history of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, stand in amazement at the spectacular views in the Isle of Skye, experience the life of a King & Queen by staying in a Scottish Castle, and hopefully take the steam train across the bridge made famous in the Harry Potter films. Ah, and of course, no scottish adventure would be complete without a boat trip on the Loch Ness, in search of the ever mystical Nessy!

5 days later will see us back in London, enjoying the wonderful hospitality of my lovely friend Jen, and experiencing the wonderful british culture.

Paris then onto Nice will give us a quick insight into French way of life... The Louvre, Eiffel tower, Champs Elysee, national museums, River Seine, French country side, Monte Carlo Casino!!!! What a life huh??? We just can't wait to be a part of it.

Mid Sept will see us taking our first steps on Italian soil, with a 11 day tour of Italy, visiting Rome, Florence, Pisa, Lake Maggiore (day trip to Switzerland), Verona & Venice, Sorrento. Then its out to Capri, and then a winding down (and relaxing - I think we'll finally need it my then) stay on the Amalfi Coast.

Now all that's left to decide is ....Oktoberfest or not???.......2 and half months to make up our minds.

Holy Dooly...What a wonderful experience!! We are finally at the end of the first week of our wonderful overseas journey. And to date...No real jet-lag!! Our initial flight: Brisbane to Singapore was a majorly uncomfortable. squeezy seats, confined to the same spot for 25hrs!. Singapore was HOT (inside the terminal!!) when we arrived for a quick stop over. Dubaii was hotter! However managed to sleep a fair bit between Singapore and Dubaii. Dubaii tio London was most frustrating, but I think that was just becasue we were so eager to get out and get into our holiday! Day 1: Plane Arrived late in London. London tubes...what an experience. But we have survived somehow! straight to bed as soon as we got to Jen's place. London suburbian living.....ultra small! Day2: London - Scotland. Left on tubes to ... read more
