So Its actually day 6 and i’m trying to remember everything that happened. Nothing too exciting, aside from all of the halirous things mom does, like talking to complete strangers in very odd ways and making funny comments about things on the road. We traveled from Sequoia NP and made our way to Barstow California, which totally sucked, the town that is. According to Caitlin its “Infested with methheads.” Yeah, nice. The hotel was brand new, and very relaxing and nice. When my Mom asked the guy at the front desk if he lived in Barstow he replied “Oh thank God no.” Great, now I have this ominous feeling that i’m going to be stabbed when I go to the bathroom. Anyway, we got dinner at a pretty nice diner, and headed out the next day. ... read more
Oh man what a long and amazing day! Today we started off on the Sherman Tree trail. General Sherman Tree is the largest tree in the world, meaning that it is not the tallest or widest, but its combination of height and width gives it the most density than any other tree in the world, this shit was super huge. It was taller than the statue of liberty and weighes more than 10 blue whales. After that, we headed over to Moro Rock, and it really is an understatement to say the view from here was one of the most amazing ... read more
Alright so this morning while my Mom was doing complamentary yoga (yikes), my father and I drove down to the visitor center near our lodge to check out some hikes in the area. We gathered our reconnaissance and went back to mother with all of the info. We settled on a trail called the Tokopah Valley trail, which was 1.7 miles there and back traveling around the Tokopah river and ending near a waterfall, sounded pretty sweet. I can’t find a map of it online so take my word for it. The trail was amazing, it literally went through the valley and we had breathtaking views of the river, along with the surrounding mountains and forest. Unfortunately, the trail seemed a little father than 1.7, and my dad and mom had to back out of the ... read more
So pretty much everything went according to plan. We flew from Philadelphia to Phoenix and then took a connecting flight to Fresno, California. I read a bunch of “The Road” on the ride to get ready for the movie coming out soon :) When we landed we got our rental car (Ford Escape, pretty nice) and proceeded to have the car ride from hell. We had to drive 95 miles from Fresno to Sequoia National Park, which doesn’t seem like a far drive. However, as you’ll see in the video, it took us an hour and a half to drive the final 15 miles because it was so god damn hilly and curvy. I wanted to die. We finally got to our lodge and had a nice dinner. Tomorrow Dad and I are going to figure ... read more
Hey there. Here I will be keeping a blog of my trip, so following along if you wish and enjoy the pictures and videos to come. Everything is packed, and I am ready for bed. There is only one thing I am missing and its my laptop adaptor to charge in the car, but I guess that just gives me more of an excuse to read! See you tomorrow.... read more
