Tuesday - January 27, 2009 No tourism today. It was a day spent with family members. I woke up at 4 am, either from excitement or jet lag, but I couldn’t get back to sleep until 6. I thought I’d sleep in until it was time to go to lunch, but Bean had other plans. Up at 7, he was as excited as I was, and I didn’t get back to sleep. First we had lunch with Vivian’s family - Uncle Yin, Aunt Ching, and Aunt Bernice and their kids and spouses, Vivian’s cousins, eleven people all told. They live out in the sleeping districts, the “real” Hong Kong. They’re public housing projects, with similar connotations to the American ones, though not so bad.
