Well here is a real update. Today I leave Tokyo bound for Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur to be precise. The last couple of weeks in Japan have been quite the eye opener, so close to home but worlds away. I have navigated the Tokyo subway with relative success, fallen on my bottom numerous times as a result of my thongs not providing adequate ground-adhesion, and committed several Gaijin (foreigner) 'mistakes' which could be likened to social suicide. My hostel was in the Asakusa district, which is one of only two wards of Tokyo which retains it's old tokyo charm. Several temples (or are they shrines) are within walking distance though they don't take kindly to thong wearing, camera weilding Australians.
