Perfect Desciption of Agra
Hello, Good write up you have here. I was in Agra a few weeks ago and your description is spot on. I found it to be a dirty, gritty place with men looking at you with contempt and bad ideas on their minds. This distracted me from my Agra experience... I simply wanted to get in to the sights, take my pictures and leave. Anyway, take care and I hope you enjoy China more than India. Regards, Lance

Keralan Lunch
The fish you ate is not any 'bathwater, laundry dodging fish' :D.They are not freshwater fish from the rivers or lakes. They are sardines( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sardine) from the arabian sea.Fried sardines are a favourite dish for keralites. The people of Alappuzha district use the water in the canals and lakes for baths and laundry, but they don't use it in the dishes. For the preparation of dishes and drinking they use water from wells or pure water transported from other places(districts). The traditional keralan dance/play is not 'Kathikhali'.Its' Kathakali'. 'Katha' means story and 'kali' means play(or dance).A kathakali artist undergo intense training for 8 to 10 years . In Kathakali, the story is enacted by the movements of the hands and by facial expressions and bodily movements.Usually the story is from the epics ramayana or mahabharatha.(Refer wikipedia for more details) Thanks for visiting kerala and good luck for your trip ahead.

Félicitations Josh, tu pourrais laisser tomber l'hydro-géologie et devenir chroniqueur de voyage. En ce qui concerne le petit paquet, il y a un proverbe qui dit: dans les petits pots les meilleurs onguents... A+

Amazing story - must have been neat to see, nice that you had local guides (and new friends). Keep living the dream.

I remember the cold too!
Yes those photos look familiar from a week ago. Vik certainly seemed to be the coldest and windiest place in Iceland. Amazing country though!

Westmann Islands
Fantastic place, isnt it? I was there a couple of weeks ago, it was a brilliant feeling to be at the top of the volcano, and it was so strange to feel the ground hot!

Wow
Svalbard is next (but one, travelling Morocco first) on my list. I am travelling to Norway May year, and adding in some time on/in Svalbard. I can't wait to go. Enjoy Tromso as well, I will be visiting when I am in Norway, so I am looking forward to seeing some pictures!

the heat of summer
Cool pics and crazy street names Josh. If those Icelander's don't wow visitors with that dramatic scenery, they've got to impress everyone when they can actually pronounce a street or town name. or is that just Icelandic for "Main Street and 1st Ave"? Madness. Keep having a good time and stay dry, Sam.
