So we're planning to set off in September, still with loads of planning to di and now we're getting married too! The plan is to get married in August and use our 12 months of travelling as one long honeymoon! It means we're going to have hectic 6 months but a fantastic summer, I can't wait. I'm going to get my passport changed and tickets booked in my married name so we will be jetting off as Mr and Mrs Mills! The travelling plans have come on a bit (although I must say I've been temporarily distracted with wedding venues etc!) and we now know that we can get to Cambodia from Vietnam on a boat along the Mekong, and that we have to fly into Santiago and not Buenos Aires when we leave NZ. We're finally heading off in September for 12 months around the world.... We've been saying we would go for the past 3 or 4 years but it's always been so far away (mainly thanks for my student loans and credit cards!) and not quite real but it's now this year! There's loads to sort out - renting out the house, what to do with our furniture, selling the car, travel insurance, vaccinations, finding a home for the gerbils etc and we haven't booked the flights yet but the route has been roughly worked out and the first night's accommodation in Delhi picked! So the route so far looks like this London to Delhi (maybe a stop in Stockholm on the way if Andy's got a spare room), travel south through India to finish in Kerala. On ... read more
