Hellooo One and all! Today started off cooler than the proceeding days, but at 7 am a knock on the door, its Rhonda who came to take me swimming as arranged in the sea at Emily Bay. As we were driving along, Rhonda said there was no-one there yesterday so we should be alright no-one there today….turns out it was the school swim carnival LOL and the whole island nearly turned up! I had forgotten what swimming in the sea was like. Never thought it could be so nice! Cold just for a few seconds as we got into it then we swam around for an hour, then got out and instead of feeling like you had been swimming in the sea all gritty this was just like swimming in salted water. Needless to say we ... read more

Afternoon All! Had a great sleep, must be the salt air, (had nothing to do from all the travelling I am sure! Heehee) - both of us woke fresh and ready to go. MrC caught up with his washing, while I cooked breakfast etc. MrC came back from the washing room, saying he was enjoying talking to the people with us down in the units near there, he said Oh it was really nice to talk to them.. and I say…I told you so, and he says… don’t keep going on about it…I just laugh because I knew he would love it all. All it took was getting him here! We had to turn up at 8.30 am this morning at Pinetop Tours, and off we went all around the island looking at the older settlement ... read more

Hi Everyone! Well we are here at last!!!! We were tossed out of our room at the Mercure in Sydney earlier than we wanted this morning because MrC didn’t understand that they assumed if you paid for your room you were on your way out of the hotel….. so MrC being MrC paid our bill up after breakfast so you guessed it we were out of there when we had told them we would like the room til late check out. Seems its one of those chain hotels who is perpetually cleaning changing rooms and then putting guests back in them straight away 24 hours a day. Anyway we sat in the TV room/Business Office room for an hour while we waited for the Airport shuttle bus. While we did that we caught up with lots ... read more

Hi All, A very despondent not happy Ruffie and MrC here, for the 2nd time we turned up at the airport only to be told by a Norfolk Island Air representative that the plane is cancelled again for today. Seems the weather is beyond us, and as it’s really clouded in they don’t fly….. So neither do we…tonight we get to stay at the Mercure Hotel, just across the way from the airport, so we wait….get annoyed, and wait the weather out! Just across from the hotel we stayed in when we first got here to Sydney. Nothing to do, MrC is watching TV and the cricket, stupid thing is if we had of known we were not flying to the island today we could have actually gone to the Sidney Cricket Ground to see the ... read more

Hi All what a day! The day started out fine, the sun was shining, we got to the airport after check out at 10 am, and walked around, found somewhere to sit down, had morning tea and started walking around the shops again so we could see what there was to fill in time while we waited for our plane. Found the observation deck, was great up there watching the planes land. Then the world turned up side down, we got a call from someone at QANTAS letting us know that our plane to Norfolk Island was cancelled due to the weather, here we are looking at blue skies but apparently the weather out there over Norfolk was bad enough for them to call the plane off. So we have to turn up again at the ... read more

Hi All! We both slept pretty well until Charlie nudged me at 6.30 am saying “fix your c-pap machine”…. I said no I think it’s the alarm clock radio on your side….turns out it was a hairdryer next door….and so started our full day in Sydney. Made arrangements with SheLion to meet with her, she was gracious enough to rearrange her day for us as she thought we were here for a week or so and I didn’t know she thought that as we are in Sydney only two days… Thank you Sheline, you are as always a wonderful lady! We had fun riding the train system here in Sydney, its amazing… we only missed one train because it was going back the same way we came into the station and didn’t realise that the “Glenfield” ... read more

Hi Ya Everyone, Well was it an experience flying today or what! Started off very early this morning when we were taken to the airport by my sister-in-law Alice (Thanks Alice). The flight from Launceston to Melbourne was great, seemed to go very fast, was an uneventful flight. When we booked in for our Melbourne to Sydney flight we were told that we could fly earlier so we chose to do that, which gave us an hour in Melbourne with Marcey (Jabba Jaws - her words not mine!) Heehee… Had a lovely time catching up with her before getting on the plane late….they were fixing/checking one of the engines - seems QANTAS always does a check and maintenance after each flight… I felt safe! PPfftthhh then we got in the air, flying in a 737, we ... read more

Hello Everyone! Well after starting out our day thinking....OH WE ARE ON HOLIDAYS......then thinking of the last minute things to do before leaving... Well it all got done, thank goodness, no worries to carry away with us, and even though we left an hour later than we wanted to, at about 10 am, we didn't mind....we said what the heck we are on holidays so didn't mind at all. Travel was really good, we took our time, and most of the traffic was light until we left Amanda & Sway. We stopped in Devonport to conclude some business, and have lunch. (For Rick's benefit) Charlie had an all day breakfast of eggs, bacon, tomatoes, sausages, and mushrooms with toast...heehee I just had a roast chicken dinner. Chicken & Gravy, potatoes, pumkin, peas and carrots. We then ... read more

WELCOME FRIENDS! Just wanted something to be here when you all come looking! Its now 6.30 am Tuesday February 26th, the last day before we leave.... Who said going on holiday was fun? The amount of things to remember to do or pack so you CAN go on holiday is amazing! And that doesn't count the things that have to be as 'up to date as possible', last instructions for our house sitter and the girl filling in for me at work! At this point I just want to thank Lizzy for house sitting for us, she said "its no trouble at all, and the spa will be well used" LOL and I bet it will be too! Anyway come along with us and enjoy our trip to Sydney and Norfolk Island, I know we will... ... read more
