Boo Hoo You have just driven off in the taxi and I´m seeking comfort in the beloved internet. Can´t quite believe our adventure has come to an end and I´ll be constantly seeing weird stuff and thinking "i must tell Ros that tomorrow". I know my loss is everybody else´s gain and that your gonna be so warmly welcomed at home but spare me the odd thought as you eat nice food and sit on soft furniture etc etc.
Love Claire
yoyo Aargh rosebud, can't believe your adventure is coming to an end! Sounds like you've experienced some crazee stuff though and survived it all with a smile (and a parasite!) - i'm dead proud of you!!
WIll hopefully speak to you soon, love you lots, frankiexx
The end's in sight! Well done you, I'm glad you finally said things have been tough at times - your emails have all sounded so upbeat I just didn't realise what a tough experience it's been. But it's good to say it towards the end. You've done so well, and I think you're right, you'll appreciate everything back here so much more - well until the KS1 performance comes around anyway! It's good to do things like this - I went to Romania on a similar-ish trip just before Uni all those years ago, and it really gives you a good perspective on things. Make the most of it all matey, I know you're looking forward to coming home (and rightly so!) but there will be times you'll miss those experiences (honestly, just the odd occasion!). Have a good last few weeks - we'll all be v excited to welcome you back.xxxx
Sympathy re: Cusco buses! Two days ago I similarly got off the Cusco - Puno bus after 5 minutes and shouted and demanded my money back to no avail! Those sales people are evil liars and will tell you anything so you get on their bus! Don´t worry - you are not alone!
Hope Claire gets well soon!
You'll be SO welcome! Well done Ros! You've survived, enjoyed and shown huge determination.....can't wait to have you back safe and sound with us all again - but don't bring back one of those sculptures for the office staff please!
felicitaciones! Poor Claire - but we're a bit puzzled - don't you get typhoid vaccinations for Peru? Or is this a different strain of the virus?
Think you've done brilliantly - we know that the living abroad in a different place, different language and different culture is great but can also be really tough (even if its only a couple of hours from home), and you've gone somewhere so far from and so different to Hertfordshire and really tried to get the most out of it and give something back. Really proud of you too. PS knew if anyone could make the parasite a blessing in the end...
You're doing brilliantly! I didn't know I could post a message to you before now!! I love reading your blogs and think you're doing so so well. It does sound awfully tough, but you're doing so well to hang in there!
Jake and I are doing well - he's a very grown up 1 year old now!!
Take care and stay well!!
Jo Wiltshire
It's been tough but you've made it I think it is really hard for us to realise what life is like in such a deprived country. The standards of schooling are very low but we know you have made a difference because your principal said you were one of the best volunteers they have ever had. The health issues have been a real concern and I am praying you will not get typhoid as it sounds so awful. It is the challenge which will help you grow as a person but I shall be delighted to see you back in one piece! You have seen and experienced so much and coped amazingly well. It has been very hard but you have hung on , you have done all you planned and you will have some amazing stories to tell us all. Well done, we are very proud of you!
No worries... You've been so brave and positive about the experience every step of the way...we've all been cheering for you at every twist and turn and will continue to do so whatever happens next!
well done you! The visit to school sounded awful and made me realise how lucky i am with my reception class!!! But well done you. I think i would have given up in the first few moments. Sorry to hear you have a patrasite again, make sure you get lots of rest take care Nicky
Parasites: new fad diet? Oh no, I can't believe your luck with the blasted parasites! You're not just trying to loose weight again are you?! Fights sound like fun - met up with Norma for coffee (which lasted about 3 hours!!!) this week and we decided GFS'll be a right doddle after your experiences in Peru. Did you hear about the Music School shed burning down at the end of half term? County shut the school the following Wed, Thur and Fri to demolish it as it had asbestos in it, so everyone got 3 extra days off after being back for just 2 days after hlaf term! Jammy huh? I miss that, but get Ofsted - just my luck!! Dyu think it's Pete??? This could be my last weekend of sanity (and having time to email) as I'm due on tuesday 7th - will text you when I pop, fingers crossed for not being too overdue, am just getting impatient to see the bubba now. Anyway, great to hear from you again Ros. Take care and hope the drugs are working quickly!
Love Ali
xxxx
Shall I book the salsa class? Strikes me you are going to be up for dancing classes when you get back - or will you be teaching us how to wiggle those hips! Ok so maybe going into primary school was not good idea but was great experience - if you can control those then GFS reception will be no problem! I know where you're going - enjoy!!
Nicking stuff! Hi Ros, glad to hear life still remains interesting!! Sorry your parasitic friends have come back to join you. Missing you at school but taking the opportunity to raid your classroom and nick back various items I left for you....Cx
What is normality ANYWHERE??! Hi Ros
Glad you're still surviving....so many parents keep asking after you too you should come back with a huge head!!! Normality here - white shed burnt down....so now not only are you missing Ofsted but also 3 days school closure....perhaps we should have a teachers olympics in the absence of the youngsters? What do you think then?! Take care, T.
Half term heaven! Hi Roz,
It's been great to hear all of your news and to see the great photos. I'm looking forward to half term (next week) and understand how difficult it must be for you (a primary teacher) to teach those beastly older lads! I have that problem sometimes but they wouldn't get away with whistling and love letters at my school (I'd put them in detention for a long time if they did that!) It sounds as if you are having fun seeing the sites and dining out at weekends. Look forward to catching up when you get back!
Love Lindsay and Alex x
Get better soon! Poor you, you must've been feeling v sorry for yourself matey - hope you're over the worst now, and back on form. Actually the Peruvian men's life seems quite similar to mine now I'm off (hurrah!!) - I definitely reccommend it. Fraid now that I'm a lady of leisure I won't be printing out your news for the whiteboard, and Rick's silly work computer keeps blocking the pop-ups I need so I can't seem to forward your TravelBlogs to the staff at school. I know you send them to TC too, but she's hurt her back again and I'm not sure how much she's there. Anyway, will keep trying to forward them to Jo! Everyone loves hearing your news!
Take Care chicken and stop eating parasites!

Parasites Are you going to name them/it - do you know how many you have? Been back here only 1 week and already had to scrape ice from windscreen of car to get to work, people shouting about deadlines at work - it's like I've never been away! Just relax and enjoy your time out there. You won't believe how quickly it all becomes a distant memory. Lots of love Sandra x x x x
Maybe horses better than walking! I presume the horses are the beasts! Seems you are not lucky with horses - memories of a holiday in Aviemore! But I am not sure the walk would have been much fun without them - 9 hours on horseback is quite a long way!Glad we talked on phone and I knew you were alright before read of visits to hospitals! Machu Picchu sounds amazing and I cannot get my head round it all _ I will look forward to seeing all the photos. Take care and get better Loads of love Mumxx
Hi Ros, Glad you're still experiencing the high life. You will be SO BORED when you get back! However, I'm delighted you made it to Machu Pichu....and even more pleased that you made it back and survived a hospital visit....your poor M + D picking up these titbits as you go along!!! Enjoy - send us the photos for your photo board at school. T
