Cheers! Great stats, with figures applicable anywhere.
I chuckled on SIDI Touring boots comments... I hate mine; stiff, uncomfortable and certainly NOT waterproof.
Each to their own, for sure.
I have just recently imported my bike from NZ to Queensland
and am planning to ride the "Big Loop" next year, @20000 kms.
My mate has done it twice and I have read Mike Hide's (R.i.P) three books on his rides in NZ, AU and the USA.
Cheers; T.Z.
Absolutely epic journey Rosco - you have provided Dick, Cathy, Mitchell and I with many oooos and ahhhhs, scary moments, knowledge and awe. Thank you. You deserve a long, summertime rest back home. We were sorry to miss you recently - our journey from the bottom of NZ to the very top and back again seems so miniscule when compared with your epic journey. We all look forward to your next adventure - but we'll let you have a rest first!
Cheers Su
Awesome trip Just stumbled over your blog and it is a joy to read. I have been in the area where you are and love the place. And good on you doing this on the bikes. Enjoy life....
Motorcycles I love reading your blogs and hearing your stories about having to deal with getting the bikes on and off various boats and such. Lots of energy but well worth it. What a great experience. Eager to read more.
Génial !! Je connais très bien ce voyage !! J'ai fais le Costa, puis le Nicaragua, puis le Panama ! Merci pour le partage ! N'hésitez pas à me suivre, je vais bientôt poster les photos ! En moto ? Quelle aventure !
Carnet de Passage Rosco, the HOG HK club ran into a similar problem when we shipped our bikes to Jakarta to ride from there to Bali. We had to pay Indonesian Customs Officials a "special payment" to let them into the country. After that debacle I insisted that any time we shipped our bikes to anywhere that the participants obtain a Carnet de Passage for the country we were going to. No problems after that. Regards, Rob
Niagara will always be a favourite of mine. I've been twice now - and would love to go again. I just couldn't stop STARING!!! So beautiful! :) Great pictures.
Hospitality We are continuing to enjoy these blogs Rosco. What a great bloke Craig was to be so hospitable to strangers. Then again, if you ride and meet up with other riders "that's just the way it is". That's motorcycling life for ya.
oops hit a button before i was finished... Looking forward to hosting you vagabonds in the mountains. I can put us all up out at Big Snowbird a couple nights while y'all take in the Cherohala Skyway, Deal's Gap and such. I have big shop for maintenance, plus my pal Wheeler's shop a few miles away and he can do just about anything, he's an 'old timer' like us, been there, done that, with, for and on bikes. He has 300 tires in stock. Give us some advance on service needs so we can make sure we have all the junk to keep our stupid Beemers from screwing up or spitting us off. Did I show you the pic of the dead guy I found on the Skyway in March? Had all the good shit, Aerostich, boots, quality helmet, big RT Beemer all wadded up. Still dead though. Just a thought. Ark ark ark!
Mud men G'day, The photo of Radar with his Harley down reminded me of HOGHK tours up into China. I'm planning on making the same trip but in my GMC motorhome.

following Love the blogs Rosco and appreciate the time you take to present them for all.
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Radar and Nikki. Great news. You're right Rosco. Thank goodness she said yes, otherwise a pretty uncomfortable tour I reckon. Keep safe all. X
I organise Rosco's Rocky Road Adventures,on motorcycles to Chile, Argentina, Bolivia and Peru. We ship dual purpose motocycles in a container from New Zealand to Chile and ride from there.
We are now doing adventure rides North to Alaska during August. Shipping YOUR motorcycle from NZ to Vancouver and home again after your adventure.... full info
