Capoeira Inspector I am very suspicious that this 'British kid' who got involved in the Capo dancing was in fact Mr Richard Shaw. I remember him dancing at Jerusalem. Not a pretty sight.
And can I also congratulate Catrin for the wonderful photos, and also for allowing Richard to take at least one comedy shot in each set of snaps. I enjoy searching it out - it's never Where's Wally-esque in it's difficulty though. Today's was a particularly good example of the genre: a dozen lovely images then a shot straight into the sunshine with Catrin chopped off at the knees! Priceless stuff My Old Son!
Driving Having seen the photo of the car in the ditch I have been comforting the Zetec about her future change of ownership. I think she wants to stay with me.
lost item of your kit? What happened to the invaluable Xmas gift I gave you, that raised a smile of amusement on opening - the essential compass - never leave home without it!!!!!!!! seems like you may have inherited your Mum's hopeless sense of direction........ :) At least you and Rich seem ever smiling through any adversity
Brilliant Blog Just been browsing through your blog folks. It looks fantastic. Great photos you have put on their too. I think I will setup my own blog, I like the look of it. I'll send you the link when I set it up. Oh I bet you cant wait to read it such amazing subjects as "Climbing the steps of Motorola" "Battling the software conundrum of Mount Allports laptop" oh and the "Stuck in the house with three kids while weather is crap". Coming your way soon. Look forward to hearing all the stories in person when you return. Although don't go on too much right! Hope you both continue to have a great time and Ritchie, whats the -1lbs weight loss ratio so far? Cheers. John.
Always a puppy?! I am beginning to think this is a tour of all the puppies in the world - everywhere you go you seem to pick one up!! Can't imagine Cat is encouraging that at all!! All sounds v scary but LOTS of fun .. so not even a grazed knee?!!
Wow Apologies if you just got nonsense in my last message, I got distracted part way through. Good job I didn't do that mountain biking.
Anway, loved the pampas and jungle blogs. I know what you mean about not seeing any animals in the jungle, you just hear the life going on around you. We felt the same in Oz.
I can't believe that you have the energy to still be a wine critic though. What is the best wine to have with piranha.
Hair Cut 100 Well thought it was about time I made a comment. Richie, so glad you have finally decided to cut your hair short. Looks good. Photos are looking amazing and yes we are both very jealous. Keep the entries coming.
Amazing You have taken such beautiful pictures despite the exhaustion, very well done. I don't think I could have managed so much hiking, but I would sure would have a go at the wine tasting. Happy Birthday Cat. Like the new doo Rich.
love Amanda, Rob and Rachel xx
City Slickers You look like the lead from City Slickers Rich. That horse doesn't look like it is being paid enough to take you round South America though - I hope it got a glass of wine at the end of the trip too to make up for the effort?
Mendoza Girls I'm disappointed that there are no photos of the Mendozan girls so we can make up our own minds about the quality. Please improve this in future blogs.
Also love the remark about Health and Safety - I recall seeing a man shoeing a horse on the streets of San Jose in Costa Rica, including heating the horseshoe up until it was glowing red in a little fire he'd set up in an iron barrel in the gutter!
What a fab time you are having Hi Cat, hi Rich. You two are having the time of your lives and a getting very fit in the process. It all looks absolutely amazing. I only wish I was brave enough to do it. Keep up the ripping yarns. Love you both, Amanda, Rob and Rachel.
You've got mail! Richard MOS Shaw: I have been walking the floors of SGH for the last two months with some post for you. I've finally tracked you down! I shall be on the next plane out - get the beers chilling!! PS I'm coming with Kenny from the car park.
Sounds great! Even the most bizarre stories are the best to tell when you get home!!! Always good to tell in the pub!!! Last adventure sounds crazy but v funny!!!! Glad you are still having a great time! Our new arrival is keeping us busy!! Getting used to being mummy and daddy...reading your blog out to Adam to get him used to the idea that one day we will put him in a rucksack and set off travelling in our hols again!!! Keep us updated, jill xx
Photos Hi Rich and Catrin,
Loving the stories and photos. Nothing like seeing your cute faces watching a pig roast, watching out for wildlife and reading a book all togged up in a raincoat to brighten up a dull day in the office!
Looking forward to hearing your next update! Rach B xx
Want to swap places? So churn is still higher than expected and Q1 reforecast....blah....blah....blah....yes its all the same over here. Feeling very envious reading this travel blog....brings back memories of not too long ago!!! - Sounds fab, I know how the trekking feels. I bet your 10kg pack only needed 3kg in it!!! - Anyway, keep the stories coming, useful distraction from work! - Enjoy every minute and remember the bad days (if you have any) are still a thousand times better than the good days at work!!!!
So jealous! Hi guys!! All sounds and looks amazing!! We are sat here on a Sunday night feeling very envious of your travels! You look like you are having a great time and creating loads of brilliant memories! Keep up the blog - it is fab to be able to see your journey! LOL Cas and Ell xxx
WOW Am green with envy! Certainly beats being here in the UK. Do keep the updates coming...its great to hear about all your adventures.
Not much news here - Martyn enjoyed watching Liverpool winning against Arsenal yesterday - 3 goals from Peter Crouch...although Richie I am sure you have already found time to read all about it somehow!
All going well with me...busy week last week with a whistlestop tour of the courtry with conferences (and too much flaming sambuca!), but looking forward to the Easter break - we have booked a last minute holiday to Egypt to get some sun.
Good to see you both looking well. Looking forward to the next installment
