Nearly home Well, boy - o, you are nearly back after 8 weeks of amazing adventures. Really looking forward to seeing you, and to hearing a lot more, but the Blogs (and , of course, emails and phone calls have been great, especially all the amazing photos. See you soon and love you as always, Mum.xx
I found your blog! Rump!
Daz told me you had a blog so I just had to check it out to find out what you've been up to. Looks like you're having a great time and quite some adventure. Sorry to hear about your tonsillitis and the resulting jab in the rump (worrying times for the "king of the mooners") - ouch!
I presume you've not got long left until you head back to sunny Carluke but I hope you enjoy the remainder of your time. Looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back.
Hasta luego,
Zuko x
What about me? Im a medical marvel!! Aw wow wee rico, sounds like you are just having a blast. You're probably up Machu Picchu right now as I'm typing this (Don't look down!) Can't wait to see you on saturday. Feels like you'ved been away for ages and pages! Hehe x x x x x x
Final lap ...... prayer contact Hi from me, just to let you know, you're not forgotten, either in thoughts or in prayer. Thanking the Lord for good reports from your Mum and for all His protection and provision for you. Praying you will have His blessing directing your paths, helping you in every decision both great and small, making you a blessing to others and continue to have a great time all the way back to Bonnie Scotland.
love you - AKTx
your continuing adventures Hi Richard ! Good to catch up with your adventures in Peru. What an amazing time you're having ! Such diversity of experience, and unforgettable. I loved your pictures - except for the tonsils which put me off my tea.
My Canadian trip went really well, apart from an awful dental abcess which made my jaw swell to massive proportions and caused lots of pain! Must be something about us Scots and our mouths, abroad.
Hope it all continues to go well for you. Did you hear that Peter Dunn is leaving QP to be Director of World Missions for BMS ? A huge gain for them and a great loss for us.
Speak to you soon. Wendy x
RICO! hey you - missing you tonnes - glad you are having such a great time. hope you got my email. so much to catch up on when we get back to glasvegas eh?? xxx
Managed to find my way here through your last few days but where now?! Cos it's the 7th August and your last entry was July 29th. You must be busy working!! May you know health, peace and wisdom. Jane et al xo
Hello again Are you still picking up entries from here? I've lost track I'm afraid re where you are now. Is it Peru or are you in Spain now? Hope and pray that you are keeping well. Peter is out with Street Pastors tonight and I can just hear the rain has started, heavily! Ruth and Tim went off to SU camp yesterday too. God bless you. Jane xo
Well, well! Believe it or not Dad and I have only read this Blog report tonight. I think we must have missed it previously coz we read the Safe in Cajamarca one before we went to Norway. Of course, we knew some of things from emails and phone calls but it is great to see the photo of you with Auntie Jean and Uncle Steve. I think they are still in Peru. I like your zippy Peru jacket and all the other photos are great too. Fancy there being a hanging shopping centre. What is ceviche? Not sure what Dad thinks of the beer!! - he did one of 'those' laughs!! I imagine it will be refreshing in the heat. Shame the Independence Day celebrations were cancelled after all their hard work with the decorations. Looking forward to next update, if you have the time this weekend. We are so glad you are feeling a lot better. We are praying for you loads. All our love, Mum and Dad.xx
Thinking of you Having difficulty bringing up your most recent blogs since 29th July! Dont know why, as I did not have a problem before. I think I'll try to contact Lorna or Hilary tomorrow for possible help. Meantime, haven't forgotten you. Praying for you every day. Love AKT x p.s. Is your tonsillitis any better?
Tiger Tiger indeed - you guys got yourselves a reputation with our maid - I wont go into details cos I kow your mum reads the blogs and a wouldnt want to avergonzarla.
Lima..... Hey Miraflores? Pelucón! Not all (or even most) of Lima is like Miraflares, but it is lovely, especially the parks. It really is about time you left off the beer and got back to work don´t you think? Looking forward the the next chapter....
Hi Ricardo, sounds like you're having a great time. The pix look great. I'm looking forward to a Spanglish confab when I see you next at QP. Keep enjoying the sun, the weather here has been typically Scottish (rain between showers). Your former room-mate and Tiger.
Glad you've arrived safely Hi Ricardo So glad you're safely at your destination. Do I sound like a mum ?
What a summer you are having - and mine's turning out somewhat similar. I go off on Monday to meet up with my daughter in Canada for a couple of weeks. They're there for 5 and have persuaded me to join them in Vancouver for a 2 week trip in a camper van from there to Calgary. I had been planning a quiet summer after Ecuador, but that's unlikely given that two of my travelling companions will be my little grandsons of 3 and 6.
I hope you have an amazing time - lots of challenges and interesting experiences - I'm sure you'll be a match for them all.
Love Wendy x
Re-connecting with Ricardo Sorry to have been so long off your radar but ...... the reasons would bore you!
This also has to be a hasty note as in middle of defrosting and cleaning the freezer before lunch, after which someone is arriving for the afternoon.
Spoke briefly to your Mum at Heathrow airport about 1/2hr ago, on their way to Norway. Sounded like she was sleepflying but apart from that, all was well.
SO So So enjoyed your accounts and the photos and rejoicing in how the Lord is going before you! Will continue to pray for you, AND your dear Mumand Dad in all your travellings.
Loads of love AKT xxxx
Where are you? Hi Rich, Hope the lack of update means you are having such a lot of fun there is no time to tell us about it! Our house is still soooooo quiet without you! Look forward to the next pics. The kids were thinking about you when we went to Cuenca at the weekend cos we found some great parks to climb and hair around. Take care. Love from Teambutchers
Good blogging Richard,
Great to hear from you and even see a photo of you on the equator, good stuff. We're back in the UK now after great traveling and hostels. Dorm accomodation is a cheap move and so credit for that. However... a 9 hour bus trip....nothing my friend. Our best was 22 hours and a total of 174 hours during our trip, flights...only for girls (not including Jayne). Glad you made it though and sounds like you are well, we didn't get any views of places from the air which sounds good. enjoy yourself and go for some street food. Pete and Jayne

Hi Ricardo Hi there
Good to hear you're doing well and still practising your Spanish ! And some amazing pictures. Quito sounds fabulous.
I'm just back from a couple of days with my daughters and their families in Staffordshire. Catching up before my older girl goes of for 5 weeks to Canada with her husband and their boys. They've persuaded me to join them for 2 weeks of that while they tour the Rockies area in a camper van so a summer of adventure for me too.
Hope all goes well with the next stage of your trip. Did you know that Lorna's mum died on Wednesday? I'm going to the funeral tomorrow. It's just good that Lorna got home in time. God bless. Wendy
Great pics! Hi Rich,

Quito from above! Hey Rich, hope your doing well. Just wanted to say that picture of Quito from above is amazing!! Looks like your having fun. Stay safe, Trace x
Great to read your own personal blog Was about to sleep walk to bed and thought I could JUST keep my eyes open long enough to peak at your blog. So here I am, blaming you for now being wide awake, having been so entertained by your stories, adventures and pics!!
Certainly a great motivator to keep thinking of you and, more importantly, to pray for the Lord's continued blessing every step (and flight) of the way.
I have an early start tomorrow so must, as John would say, " be single eyed"!
Night, night and love - AKT xx
Welcome to Quito Great to hear your news. It was a good decision to fly to Quito. That was a long trip by bus but quite short by air.
Was at the prayer meeting to night and God is right with you. Mum and KT and I went to the David Livingstone centre in Blantyre. It was very good. it is along time since we were last there. He was such an incredible man; just like you in many ways.
Look after yourself and all your goods
Love Dad
