Rome
Wow! So much to see and do in this amazing city. Well done for being able to fit so much in, whilst also going at a more gentle pace. And well done also on being able to attend an audience with the Pope ?

Rome
Sounds like you haven't been to Rome. If that's the case, you definitely need to add to your bucket list of places to visit in Europe soon. There is so much to see and do in the city that we are glad we booked a longer stay than we would usually for a city break. The pope experience is definitely worth experiencing.

Poland
Ah, what a lovely part of Poland, and so much to see and do! The Wieliczka Salt Mine is certainly a highlight and very unique. I felt similar about visiting Auschwitz - it is important to know about what happened there, but it is certainly a sobering experience. Glad you enjoyed your time in Poland, and enjoyed the food too ?

Poland
Auschwitz most certainly a sobering experience and I pray this event will never happen again. I feel like I need to visit Poland again just for the food and it is super cheap too :D

Beautiful Dorset
Ah, beautiful Dorset! Such a lot to see in such a beautiful county. The Jurassic Coast is certainly a highlight. Glad you were able to enjoy a Cream Tea and a BnB full English breakfast ?

Hi Alex, good to hear from you! Hope you've been able to get out a bit in these unprecedented times. The Simnel cream tea is the best one I've ever had :)

Krakow
I'm eager for the world to open to Americans but until then we will follow your European travels. Krakow is one of those towns on the list. Many people say great things about it. It sounds like you found some quality local food. It seems to offer art, history and more. Thanks for taking us along.

Krakow
I'm surprised it is tricky for Americans to get into Poland; Is it that there is no direct flight, or more around the immigration piece with needing a visa? Krakow is the perfect tourist location as it offers a variety of things to see/do. I'd happily go back just for the food :)

Hey Dave, good to hear from you. This building's architecture was designed I believe to blend in with the castle and perhaps that is what makes it extraordinary. Thanks for sharing on the forum :)

Thanks for the preview of a short visit to Krakow...
Linda has ancestors from Krakow and the surrounding area, so it is high on our priority list once Europe opens to Americans. We plan to visit Poland in 2022. It's also good to see that you are posting trips from 2017. With Covid shutting travel down, this is a good time to get caught up on past trips!

Krakow
Amazing that Linda has ancestors from Krakow and surrounding areas. I really hope you get to visit Krakow and Poland and meet any distant relations. Yes, I'm focused now so will definitely get caught up with the blogs. I hope you're both keeping safe and well

Bravo for a surprise trip!
Dave and I used to take turns planning surprise get aways. Some of them were very creative and always on a budget. We love staying in B&B's. It is great talking with other travelers and usually a fantastic breakfast. Thanks for taking us along on your exploring.

Caribbean Cruising
What a wonderful way to celebrate your Mum's 60th birthday! A lovely family holiday. It seems taking a cruise is a really good way of seeing so many Caribbean islands in one go. A very inspiring read, thanks Alan ?

The perfect host
What a great host you are Alan. Stefano must have had a fascinating time. I am intrigued by the Round Table. If it was based on the legendary King Arthur is there any reason it was built some centuries after the legend began? It is beautiful.

Round Table
It's a good question. I think the honest answer is nobody actually knows. Winchester is linked with a 9th century King Alfred the Great and some people believe there could be a mix up between the two given the timeline is closer.
