Mourning the end of your blog!
Hi Rayma and Doug, I will truly miss the fantastic travel stories and photos! I'm very glad we got to have some time together and a great dinner in NYC earlier this year. And I'm glad you're back safe and sound, and ready to resume life (although I'm sure it's a hole new life with a baby on the way!). Keep in touch. Sean

Hey, Kids, Nice finish. I'm sure it give you as much closure as it does us readers. Thanks. I agree that the relationships incubated during hard times are the most solid and resilient. That means my people at Motorola doing the factory start-up, UT with Doug, and Doug and Tre during 1996/7. It is always good to get back with those people. Looking forward to seeing y'all again soon. Take care, Leif

an exotic peek
Thank-you for another peek at an exotic land. Your descriptions are wonderful. I recommend incorporating that dance into your lives so that when you're mad at each other, you precipitate gales of laughter instead!! How's the stowaway...and it's mother?? What a grand incubation period - adventurous and happy and filled with wonder. I hope you'd understand if I tried to paint one of these photos. Your photography is so clear and crisp and the subjects are wonderful! love to you both Mary Pelham

Perfection
This stowaway must be perfection itself. It chose two very loving, adventurous, passionate people to begin its journey. I can't wait to meet this wise old soul.

Fantastic story
Guys, I dont get to read all your blogs but when I do I cant stop laughing from the humour and amazed by the photos and sooooooo jelous of the expereince you are sharing together! Fantastic blogs.. so pleased you are doing this so that others can live vicariously through you all in the hope that we too will make decisions on our own travels based on your tales. Life in Hong Kong is good, albeit cold, was just in New York last week during the storm and coming back here where we are not used to the cold was a surprise. Take care and continue onward and upward (or downward if you are where I think you are). Matthew.. P.S. Happy 40th..no addiitonal comments required.

Ahh...enlightenment
I've been there. The point at which you realize the inflection point in ones life determines future satisfaction. At this juncture is a decision and a realization of who you are and what you want from life. And, yes, this passage is mostly noted by a brief meet with fatal consequences. Congratulations, grasshopper. The South American version of redneck rampage is also funny - "Get Offa Mah Land!" Love you guys, Leif

Hi from England
Dear Doug and Rayma Thank you for sharing your experiences. We too liked Chile very much and it brought back memories of Atacama desert, Terra del Fuego and Easter Island. You are much more adventurous than we ever were with your daring feats. Glad to know that you are well and enjoying your extended honey-moon. We had a cruise from Barcelona to Mumbai befor Christmas and in mi-Feb we cruise from Singapore to Mumbai. I am a guest lecturer on board and Jenny is invited by the shipping company too. Lots of love to you both and keep in touch. Rami

Headed Back to HK..
Hey Guys, Funny you should mention Lantau. When I ws there in Sept, I went to go see the "largest seated outdoor Buddha". First, DON'T take the bus...way too long. Take that nice tram. Second observation is that I can see why you paraglide there; the whole island is like one large 60 degree takeoff ramp. Beautiful natural beaches too. Anyway, I am heaed back to HK on Dec. 10-11, though I am pretty certain you two will still be on your walkabout. Enjoy (I am still insanely jeaoulous). sean

He raised a great son
Your memories are touching, they will get you through all the hard times. It's apparent that you were the star of his life and his best work. Your words are testimonial to his love for you and the love that you so freely give. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Your Dad
I was so moved by your tribute to your Dad, Doug, that I felt I just had to tell you. He must have been a wonderful person to have as a father and he too must have felt the same way about his son. Thanks for sharing it with us all. We hope you are both recovering from the shock of your Dad's death and look forward sometime in the future to talking to you both about him. Love from us both. Agreat loss in your lives
Doug and Rayma-I'm saddened to hear about your father. He reminded me of my father and his brothers, born and raised in Texas, slow talking and interested in the environment and nature. It will take time to adjust but he will always be present in your memories. Take what you have learned from him and use it in your life. You will feel his presence in all that you do. May the rest of your trip be filled with reflections on the man who made your life whole.
