Getting there sucked, but that's because at that point we were still in America. For some reason we flew with America Airlines who are rubbish. No meal on a 4.5 hour flight, crappy staff, they only showed one Christmas movie and I didn't even get to sit next to Ross. Nope, I sat next to a fat snoring fat man and Ross sat next to a pretty lady with a little dog in her bag!  As soon as we got to Toronto things were looking up. It's was Christmassy cold and after checking in to our pretty nice Hostel we went for a walk to find some dinner. The streets seemed far less scary in Toronto and we found ourselves a nice little restaurant which serves great cocktails and steak dinners. On top of that our ... read more

Despite the freezing weather and the possibility that we would look slightly crazy, we set off with the top down in Clyde the convertable Chrysler and headed for the highway. Our first stop was Santa Cruz which was much nicer then I expected. I was finally seeing the attraction of America. We did a bit of shopping and I didn't once feel pressured into emptying my purse into a homeless mans hat. Our next stop was Carmel which was also really nice. It was a posh and quaint little town with pretty Christmas lights in all the shop windows. I really liked it.   Our final stop that day was in Montery. We pulled up at the first motel we saw which turned out to be amazing. We had a log burner in our room, a ... read more

Mmm I'm not sure I like it.  LA scared the crap out of me, Las Vegas is the weirdest place on the planet and I don't know weather to laugh or cry at the magnitude of everything! Within 24 hours we had ourselves a convertable Chrysler with satnav along with a $400 suite with a private jaccuzi in Las Vegas' Stratosphere Hotel/Casino. Now as much as that sounds wicked, it's all a bit too much for me at the moment.  On our second night in Vegas we went to see the Blueman Group which was the weirdest show I have ever seen, that's until we went and saw Cirque du Soleil the next night. That really is a strange but intreguing show.  We also had ourselves a 'Vegas Night' which I am sure you can imagine ... read more

Another few hours drive through more incredible scenery and we were in Lake Tekapo which had the most amazing coloured lake. It was bright turquoise. Our hostel was right on the lake too. Good job or I would have moved to another hostel otherwise because it was a dump! Ross and I decided to spend the afternoon walking up and around the mountain next to the lake. So after a quick lunch we set off. We were only 5 mins down the road when I was bent over tying my shoelace and nearly got a car up by behind. But just as Ross was saying "what's his problem, he's driving a bit close", we realised it was none other then Wayne and Emma. Our good friends that we met in Malaysia. What a wicked surprise.  We ... read more

Little did we know but Nelson is actually the home of the centre of New Zealand. It was quite a hike up the mountain but the views were worth it. Plus we got to have a guilt free couple of beers and fish and chips at the worlds coolest pub, The Spring and Fern. We also had a game or two of Chess. I lost everytime, until Ross got drunk.  Greymouth was our next destination, which is home to the Monteiths brewery. As you can imagine we made the most of the tour an Ross ended up a mess, cuddling a couple of Americans as though they had been friends forever and then peeing in the garden of the hostel as he couldn't get to the toilet!! Was a funny night though.   The next morning ... read more

So, this was our first Magic Bus journey and what a surprise it was. Instead of the 2hour journey we expected, we were on and off the bus for 11 hours. We hadn't realised that the bus would tour us around for the day and then drop us at our destination. Ross was most displeased with this but I have come round and think it's a fab way to see it all. And the scenery is so beautiful it doesn't matter than you're on a bus all day.  So by the time we got to Taupo we headed straight to Andy and Kims holiday apartment for a BBQ. They had another couple visiting them too and I don't think they like us very much. Andy was quite adamant that we shouldn't let that bother us though, ... read more

We arrived quite late on our first day in New Zealand so only had time for a quick stroll around the city then a spot of dinner. A very nice dinner too, after all a new country means a new budget, so we are rich.  On our second day we went to see a few of the city attractions which included the Victoria Park Market. Not many stalls were open but we the all important puzzle stall was. This is where we met Steve. Steve is a facinating man who very much enjoys puzzles and psycology. So much so that he had us entertained in his shop for near on 3 hours. I won't go into detail of our conversations but it sent Ross and I away thinking very deeply.   That evening we went to ... read more

After a huge downer when we departed Airlie Beach we decided to head straight for Cairns in order to book our Great Barrier Reef diving trip as a 'pick me up'. It was only when we got there that we realised how close to the end of our Ozzy trip we were and that in a couple of days we would be saying goodbye to Humphrey :0( all was very gloomy indeed. We spent the last 2 camper nights in a campsite next to Lake Placid, which Ross tells me is a title of a horror film about killer crocks!! Great. We are alive still though.   The very final 2 nights were spent in a hostel. The hostel itself was ok but it was very strange to not have to change your living room into a ... read more

Basically I am far too excited about the Whitsunday cruise to try and recall what we did the days running up to it. Bundaberg is where they make the Bundaberg Rum, we don't like rum so we didn't go to see it be made. We did, however go to an Aboriginal cultural centre when we learned about aboriginal art and the different tribes that existed and still exist around Australia. We also got a boomerang lesson which Ross enjoyed so much he brought his own boomerang. The following day we drove to Rockhampton which was more of a pit stop on our way to Airlie beach. The town itself is pretty big so we just took off to the Botanical gardens which had it's own zoo. The zoo was being refurbished so looked rather run down ... read more
