still going it's lunchtime and i'm too hungry to focus on work. and i LOVE that you talk to random children and photograph random animals. reminds me of me. tear...
yup, really commenting on everything i would not survive a 16 hour busride without air conditioning. unless there were heavy drugs involved...LEGAL prescription drugs of COURSE
you must come back Fisher, the idea of you not returning to DC is unacceptable. Simply unacceptable.
p.s. yes, it's taken me till now to read your travel blog but i plan to comment on EVERY entry. because i miss you!
wow! Fisher, I am jealous, this looks amazing. Glad the altitude sickness seems to have gone away. FYI, for some reason the travelblog site stopped sending me email reminders, not sure why. Have fun and say hi to Jay for me.
Eddie´s generalizations I would like to add the following:
"Arabs..."
"I`m not sexest, or chauvinistic, but i hope we dont get some fat woman holding us up on the trail"
"I`m not sexest, or chauvinistic, but you´ve done really well Rachel, as your a lady, you were flying!"
"The Chinese, now there you have model immigrants"
"Why do we keep letting these people into our country?"
See you both in Stgo!!
the adventures of rach and jay i can understand the giant stones from other places. the egyptians and the druids sis it.but and israeli restaurant near the ruins? how did that happen. love to you both
toilets the same thing i found in the former ussr. the answer being that toilet seats were an expensive luxury and so if they were put in restaurants and or hotels they were "liberated" by some customer who took it home. the baskets for waste were because the sewer systems were so old they could not handle the waste. recent immigrants here still put there paper in waste baskets until someone teaches them the new way. in russia, russians always made fun of tourists by starting a conversation with " i know that your toilet system is better than ours, now lets talk about something else". as to the visitor you had with your lunch, it looks like a twin that came out of my radiator the other day. the cat was fascinated and sat on it. love your stories.
missing you This is the first time I looked at your travel blog and I am jealous already:) I hope you have a great time and I will be reading along with you from now on. Can't wait to see you when you get back.
thanks for the update! Fisher I am following along your trip on Google Earth. Arequipa looks fascinating from space! Glad your trip is going well, hope the next bus ride is cooler. Cheers, Rob
Some things haven't changed 1. In 1972, toilet seats were non-existent. I think at least in Chile
there has been progress there.
2. You may not remember, but you've been through the little basket
thing in Chile before.
3. No soy? How long will you be staying? An interesting article on the
elimination of trans fats in US fast food says it is all being replaced
by soybean oil.
4. You're welcome.
5. Mom says she was getting ready to call in the Marines. Send some
email!
This "feisty Chilena Jew" will be traveling about the continent (of South America that is). I fly into Lima on January 10th and out of Rio on March 20th... let's see where the journey takes us.... full info
