After driving through the night, many coffee stops and a bit of a snooze we arrived near Bordeaux at about 9 ish. We decided to head to the coast to find a camp site. After going in to a couple to see the "Campsite Full" signs we got a bit worried and thought we might have to try some 2* sites (a bit sceptical after the last one being a rubbish 3* one). So we tryed one, it was nice and cheap and the pitches seemed nice enough there was a shop and a takeaway pizza place just outside (you don't need much more) (For the benefit of Sarah & Nathan it was called La Praise in Lacanau, look for Spar on the right). Even though we were knackered, after setting up we went to check ... read more

We all left at about 10 ish heading for Lunel near Montpellier. As Sarah and Nathan have a normal car they made it about 2 hours before us. The camp site seemed ok until guess what.......we got to the pool and the lads got told off......no shorts again (dont like france anymore)!!! We spent the next 2 days on the beach, there were some really nice sun loungers....well more like beds with comfy matresses that Kez and Sarah really wanted to have a go on but we weren't allowed as they were €30 a day, not happy bunnies!!! The sea was just like back home too whats that all about. The weather has still been really hot but it is cooler at night which is lovely. The plan was to leave onThursday morning but when Kez ... read more

Our next stop was a camp site in Roquebrune Sur Argens near Frejus where Mitch from the PO ( a mate of petes from work) was staying for 3 weeks. Found the site ok and got set up, then went to the pool to see the NO SHORTS sign again oh no!!! But luckily they don't seem to care here thank god. Saw Chris and family sat about 2 people away from us after about 2 hours of sun bathing so went to surprise him. Found a really nice little beach cove the next day but didn't realise there were jelly fish everywhere so couldn't cool down. On our last full day we had a text from our Kiwi cling ons to say they were in Frejus looking for a camp site, we let them pitch ... read more

Before leaving Cagnes Sur Mer we couldn't resist a trip to Monaco. Headed there with the Kiwi's for the day combination of car and train. It's a circus, far too much money!!! The boats are huge, not seen one with a helicopter on it before and the cars are too expensive for us. We ate before we got there as didn't know if we could afford anything there. Just before we got on the train we spotted the chance to drive a Ferrari round the F1 circuit for €70, but it was too late otherwise we would have had a go. Ragz + Kez xx... read more

Our next stop was Cagnes Sur Mer near Nice. Found a camp site about 4 km from the beach but never actually made it there. We discovered a problem with the camp site though, men are not allowed to where shorts in the pool (only speedo,s). As you can probably guess this didn,t go down well. Met a couple from New Zealand (nathan + Sarah) who were having issues with the speedo thing too. It nearly made us leave the camp site but Kez and Sarah thought they might be able to get the lads in Speedos and if not maybe a bikini.................it didnt work though not even after a few vodkas Will update some more soon xx... read more

Got a few updates for you so here goes!!!! We left Venice a while ago we think!! Didnt really know where we were going so decided to head for Genoa on the other side of Italy. Ended up travelling all the way there in a day which took about 8 hours, after the long journey we didnt fancy finding a camp site so found a hotel instead, with a much needed pool of course. It was on the coast west of Genoa in a place called Celle Ligure, it was a lovely sea side town with no English people...........bliss!! Could only afford one night there though so it was off to find a camp site the next day Ragz + Kez xx... read more

We arrived at our camp site near Venice after a six hour journey from Croatia, we left at 7am to avoid the queues at the Croatian border but then got stuck at the toll for Venice for 2 hours. We got set up and then it was off to the pool to cool down. Later as we were about to have dinner it suddenly went extremely dark, then windy, then rain, then a power cut, then the thunder and lightening came. Our gazebo would have been blown away if we hadn't been outside in the p**s**g rain holding onto it. It was more like a mini hurricane with some branches falling off trees. It cooled us down for the evening anyway. The next morning it was lovely and sunny so we headed for Venice. The camp ... read more

So here we are in Croatia, staying at the first place we could so we didn't have to go too far, called Umag. Our camp site is opposite the place where the Croatian Open Tennis Tournament is held, what we didn't realise is that its on now. There's loads going on here and you can get some peaks of some of the games. There's a nice beach too with some stuff to play on. A huge inflatable iceberg thats a climbing wall on one side and you can either slide of the other side or jump off the top (Kez slides down it, Pete dives from the top). Then there's inflatable see-saws, giant air cushions with trampolines in the middle and various other things that make you get wet (and injured-but nothing to worry about). Staying ... read more

Hi ya, So we did it the long way round but we made it to Slvoenia at last. We're still on the Adriatic coast at a small place called Ankaran about a 5 minute walk from the Italian border (but its still Slovenia). Again we didn't think about it being a different currency but they still accept Euro's anyway. Its a scorcher again here apart from a thunder storm one lunch time that we thought was going to be rubbish until the heavens opened and we got soaked, it was lovely and refreshing!!! I'm afraid most time is spent sun bathing as its just too hot to do anything else. The camp site is nice enough to stay here though and its dirt cheap for everything. There's only a small coast line in Slovenia but we ... read more

Hi, We're not actually in Venice we think its the closest place though!! We've been chilling at a campsite between Venice and Trieste at a place called Eraclea Mare, the beach is a short walk and they've got some nice pools too. Not really much more to say as all we've done is sun bathe (its too hot to do anything else)!!! It might be hot back home but I bet the sea isn't as warm as the Adriatic, its lovely at about 27 degrees, ha ha ha Off to Slovenia next so will update from there Love Pete & Kez xx... read more
