Great stuff! Your writing is getting better, which shows that the travelling is sinking in. Very happy for you old boy. You'll probably fall in love a few more times before you come home, but careful eh? :)
Good wok That's it Phil. Hang out with the seasoned people. As long as they aren't too sanctimonious, they're great at showing you how to get the most out of your time/ money.
Sad but true... Hey Plips, Good blogs. Life is shitty for a lot of people, but only relatively speaking. Some people just work their arses off and get on with it. Sounds to me like the tourist places are overwhelming you. Suggest you git out of them and try somewhere off the beaten track. A big walk through the countryside does it. Are there any good 3/4 day walking tours you can do? I know you say that you hate being a tourist, but you're not that. You're a traveler. It's a different approach. Communicate with the people, enjoy their hospitality and be a good guest. That's all they can ask.
Hello. I'm Phil. "Phil" means "love" but "Philip" means "lover of horses". I'm not a lover of horses, neither sexual nor platonic, although I have nothing against them specifically. I don't give them much thought, to be honest, except in explaining what I've just explained. Mr. Ed, Red Rum... that's about all my knowledge.
I write these blogs when I go off places, partly to entertain my facebook feeders, but if not that then just because I like writing!
I "did" a modest S. E. Asia trip in 2011 and now I'm around Australia for a month. Enjoy!
