We went into a tourist information centre in Nova Scotia just across the border of New Brunswick where one of the lady’s told us we should go to PEI ( Prince Edward Island ) via The Confederation Bridge as it is an experience you wouldn’t want to miss. So as Penny had hurt her left calf whilst at Nelson & Karens place she could not go travelling to Sth America; India & Africa. It was almost 3 weeks were she could not walk so therefore there was no way that she could carry her backpack & go trekking around the world. So as an alternative, we bought a Ford Explorer 4WD and decided to drive to the east coast of Canada then out to the west where we will finally settle down in Vancouver. Well, Pen and I left Montreal on a Wednesday, travelled to just outside New Brunswick and camped near River du Loup in Quebec, then drove to Fundi national park where we spent a day checking out the coast, and another looking at the Bay of Fundi. Then it was over to PEI for a night where we camped near a beach (for free!!) and then went to charlottetown before heading over to Nova Scotia. Canada's Wonderland is an amusement park outside Toronto that my parents took us to usually once every summer when we were kids. It was always one of the highlights with plenty of roller coasters, and other gravity defying rides. Me my brother and sister would get off one ride and practically run to the next one, if we didn't run right back onto the one we just came off! Plenty of happy memories. Canada - Our New Home! We arrived on July 18th after a relatively easy flight, although it was supposed to stop in Nova Scotia, but due to bad weather the plane skipped Nova Scotia and instead went straight to Toronto. This meant we got in about 2 hours early, whoo hoo! We went to customs where Pen had to fill out a bunch of paperwork, then got stamped as an immigrant…whoo hoo! Ok, so in the past the Brits that were behaving badly were sent to prison in Australia. This time Penny the Australian has been imprisoned in the UK. We were hoping to be here for a week, maybe two...it's actually been almost a month. Chicago Talk about a bumpy flight in. I was really considering looking for one of those hot chicken bags in the back of the seat….bleugh!!!! But I kept my composure and Scott giggled, he loves that feeling of extreme turbulence. I don’t mind bumpy plane rides but when you feel like you drop 20 metres in 1 second….that is not for me. So we landed in Chicago and it was bucketing down, raining cats & dogs. We jumped on our Blue train to the city for $2.25 and sat for an hour until we had to get off at Halsted Station. We headed to the airport with Jay and caught our flights with no problems. Then we waited a bit for Dean and Catherine, and after getting a bit worried Jay went looking for them, and rolled up in a massive Jeep Wrangler! They had been upgraded! Oahu - Hawaii - Part II: Wedding Day! The big day, the Wedding Day. Scott & I both woke up early, my head was racing with a million thoughts, there was no way I could go back to sleep. Oahu - Hawaii Part I: Arrival Aloha, we are in Hawaii. After leaving the domestic airport we had a little panic attack trying to find my mum ( Anne ) and my sister ( Kelly ) at the international airport. After about half an hour of wandering around, heart rate very elevated we eventually found them in the smoking area…of course!! To be honest they were freaking out just as much as us.
