ahhh, a relatively short entry for you, even with the addition of some poetry...
it reads like a eulogy - complete with the angel weeping over the headstone. the holiday really is dead and buried already!
bring on the next trip!
Magnifico! Thank you for taking the time to record your observations + experiences...almost (but not really) as good as being there. Hope the remainder of your travels are as fulfilling as those to date. And now, if you'll excuse me, I have a date with a gelato ;)
travel blog extraordinaire Hi Peter,
Just catching up on the latest portion of your travels.. methinks you have fallen well and truly in love with Rome and Italia in general.. as I thought you might...love your detailed descriptions of the places (and food!!) you travel.. you really do ring every ounce of atmosphere, history, art and way of life from your travels... if only we all could do as well!! looking forward to the always erudite Peter regaling us at Sutho on his return.. enjoy all the last moments.
Hey Peter and Dianne, Fabulous Blog! Fabulous trip! Your descriptions reflect an Italy moving at a different pace. I like the sound of it. Hope the experience is being as good for your soul as for your tummies! Ruth Mc
we miss you!!! Hey Pete, it looks like "postcards" are officially dead - from now on, we will have to do "blogs" in rehearsals. You are amazing, your travel writing takes me straight there - of course we would expect nothing less from "Pete The Poet". How on earth do you find time amidst the travelling to download your pictures, caption them and write a travel guide as well???? You really are unbelievable - there's simply no half measures with you is there... I can see you are both having a fantastic time - i hope there is time for some relaxation as well. We need you back at playback fit and well and raring to go!!!! lotsaluv JRx
cinque terre Thanks for bringing back some great memories of this lovely part of the world. It really is beautiful there. Liz, Jacob and I walked between the villages a couple of years ago and I still find my mind drifting back there occasionally. Love the blog.
So it's off to the white roads of the Cinque Terre... the news, views and food have been wonderful to read about so far. Can't wait to learn what you are up to in the Cinque Terre.
Was it as good as the hand poured, gold blend? Are you going to bring some coffee home for us to try?
Kristi mentioned your visit to the famed Golden Cup to Matty Ristretto and DomTron and they were reportedly awestruck in a very excited way... I'm yet to go in myself - just can't face them alone!
Glad to read that the hol is everything you hoped for and just that little bit more. We're all incredibly jealous!
Vote 4 Pedro You are definitely the winner of travel blogs. Glad to hear that the desire for taste testing gelato has overtaken coffee. It is cool and windy today in downtown Sutho so we are White Horsing it this afternoon. Have another gelato for me!
WTF OMG what have you been doing for the past 7 days. Just read the blogs for the first time. If I had longer than the 1/2 hour lunchtime browse time I would fill you in on my holiday to sunny Narooma (the architecture of the old cemetry on the cliff overlooking the beach is truly breathtaking) and exciting plans for a holiday to New Zealand for gourmet fish and chips. OMG we have booked our flights for October. So will see you before we go! Have a gelato for me but remember only on the hot days.
Enjoying your trip so far Wonderful to follow your journey on the interweb and have a little Italian sunshine flow into our autumal lives down here in the Cathage (post Punic III) of the south.
Let me guess who is the writing the blogs? Could it be Peter? Gee, leave poor old Hausmann alone, I'm with Dianne on that one.
What's Rome got that Sutho hasn't got? So a bit like Sutho then - the 'olde worlde' architecture, the top quality gelato, people wandering around drunk...why leave the Shire at all? (Don't answer that)
It does sound pretty damn amazing - for some reason the photos for this entry aren't working (could quite possibly have someting to do with the 'olde worlde' IT policy here) but your descriptions are certainly enough to fuel my imagination.
Sounds awesome Hope the air travel is a painless as possible. Trip sounds wonderful and it seems that Europe is the flavour of the month with people we know who are holidaying. It's a beautiful 28 degrees here today so that's enjoyable, but any travel plans further than Sydney are on hold. We are instead enjoying the installation of a new hot water service as the old one blew up last night. Aren't you glad you're on holiday? Terese xo
happy roaming! The apt. looks wonderful and brings back great memories of my visit to Rome which was too long ago. Can't wait to read your posts. Too much black can be solved by lots of shopping!
Black is back So you have a bit of inner city black in your wardrobe huh? Seems to me like it's a case of the pot calling the kettle black...get it?!:)
we'll miss you too! Yes, Peter (and Dianne, of course). We'll miss you too! You are two wonderful people and we truly hope to have the opportunity to meet one day. We are really happy you'll come and stay at our home.
Have a wonderful flight!
A big hug
Massimo and Biancamaria
Despite a very near miss with the title of our blog being correct in 2015, our travels to Italy have morphed into 4 weeks in the USA, some 30 years after the last time we were there. We are told it has changed a bit since then. Let's see.... full info
