Beer tales Beer is cheap by western standards but relatively expensive by Indian standards - ranges from $1.60-$2.50 for a longneck, but some places are dry! gasp! and there's quite a bit of the BC green over here too, definately worth a look.
No Phone : ( Sadly it's not working - not sure what happened ... but then we are in the world of dodgy telecommunications! You'd love India - it is so amazing such diversity - in both the people and scenery!
Happy Birthday Frog! Cheers for the footy update, keep them coming! It's starting to build up here for the world cup and all the locals want to discuss it and keep mentioning Ricky Ponting! - Dave
I'd just like to add that NZ beat OZ twice in the cricket and Dave found out and embarassed he kept this fact to himself until I was informed by the locals! - Suz
Footy Hi Suz and Dave,
Great commentary - very evocative and a wonderful giggle! Loved the banana throwing and the ancient elephant stables look awesome. How's the knees holding up Dave (you freakin hippie!) ?
Hawks are going OK...got to 2nd round of preseason with Big Bad Buddy kicking six (4 in last 1/4) - he's blitzing. No Injuries and looking promising for the season proper. I will keep you updated. The Bushrangers are 3rd on Shield table (equal with NSW in 2nd), Tas will hold final but it could be between NSW, Vic or WA - this weekend will tell.
Had a piss up/bbq for my b'thday on weekend. Everyone says "Hi" and all were intrigued by your adventures. Stay safe! FROG
Bloody wonderful Hey gorgeous', What adventures - I have just taken some time to catch up on your entries and am sooooo jealous. AND who would have thought, Hippy Dave. Man Suze, you should get paid $BIG$$$ for some of the photos you have taken. They colours and excitement are almost palatable. I've sent you a couple of texts recently but am not sure whether your India sim is working. Anyway big love hugs. Melbourne is not the same without you. Miss you loads - Keep having fun. Love Pete
Madness alright Sup,
wham packed adventure you two are having(no pun intended).
India sounds like it could be worth a look then eh?
Is beer cheap over there? cos it's flippin expensive in Canada! My travelling budget needs an accountant... but if we're anything alike I bet yours does too...
Ok, enough babble, hope you two are well, take care.
Dave
17 hours on a bus!! 17 hours on a bus - must have been a nightmare - at least you had beds to lie down on! Did you manage to get any sleep? Feels like you guys have been gone for ages! Keep having fun
Jacinta
Miss you guys! Hey beautiful people! I have been pouring over your pics whenever I get to an internet cafe. What an incredible adventure you are having. Am very jealous indeed! Thank you for taking the time to share this journey with all your friends. I must say Suz that you prove to be an excellent writer! I really had no idea you had this gift! Keep writing - I could imagine you publishing a book one day... Love you and miss you, LOu (and Mishka!)
ThankS! It was a few days later that we noticed a bit of hardened banana sludge wedged on the flash! But I guess that's what you get for being in the thick of it!
The price of Bannanas has at last gone down. Hi guys, that was a great travel story. Was at Adams on Saturday to celebrate is Birthday. I think he got trashed. Smokey is running wild on the roofs of my place. he has made friend with a cute feral from the pub.
Went for an early morning walk this morning and Suz it is a bit lonely without a buddy. But I did it..At last you can get Bannans for $1.99a kilo in melb. but is has taken a long time. Enjoy your trek. Sally

In Jan 2007 we set out on an overland journey from Asia to Europe overland. From India, via Nepal, Tibet, China, Mongolia, Russia and Europe ... destination Ireland, with no flights. Trains, buses, tuk-tuks, boats, bikes, yak, camel, and rickshaws all formed the basis of our travels.
Suze spent a year living and working in Ireland (in between all the long weekends away), Dave returned to Oz for 6 months but re... full info
