As you step off the Plane in Alice springs it hits you straight away, no not the heat, although its pretty much like stepping inside an oven, but the huge fly and about 50 of his mates. This place is like the fly capital of the world, they're all in your face, trying to get inside your ears, nose, mouth and trying to find out what your eyeballs taste like. It's pretty horrible. But then you step inside the airconditioned airport and they all but dissapear. A woman from the hostel we were staying in greeted us at the airport and told us that for some reason the flys were really bad out here.
