The flight to Singapore was the shortest flight I have ever been on despite the delay we had due to a storm over the airport! When we arrived at the hostel the girl there was sooo friendly and gave us lots of information about where to go in the local area and what to visit in the city - she basically planned an itinery for us, which was great and save us time researching things! Thursday evening we went out and tried some of the local cuisine. I had vegetarian rice dupplings, a very strange but tastey food! The flight to Kuala Lumpur was so different to our last flight! It lasted merely an hour and didn't even seem that long. Upon arriving in Malaysia we are now8 hours ahead. We got a bus from the airport into the city centre and then a taxi to the hostel which was included in the price. The taxi driver said our hostel was not in a great location and he would take us to another one, but as we had already paid a deposit we decided to take our chances (turns out it is fine, and apparently they do this as they work on commission with other hotels to take people to them!!) Travelled to Krabi on friday, we arrived at our resort at about 5pm and the man there was very friendly, he took us to our room and my bed was broken, not too badly that it would have affected my sleeping but he still insisted to fixing it. He then gave us a lift down to the beach front for free!!! Had a very cheap meal tongith, food and drink came to the equivalent of about 1.80!!! We were told we could get a tok tok back for 30B so our haggling skills were on!! They offered 40 and 60 and Anwen wouldn't budge, she is getting much better at it now! Ha. Final night in Phucket turned out to be an awesome night.....most likely our best night so far. A woman advertng some show got us to follow her into a bar, we thought we'd go as she said the show was free and we just go and see if we like it. We walked throuh this big bar made up of all smaller bars. The woman was taking us right the way to the back. When it appeared she was going to take us into a separate room we decided not to follow, as it seemed pretty dodgy! We left Koh Samui early Saturday morning. The whole journey to Patong was a disaster!!! Firstly, the pick up from our resort in Koh Samui was 45 mins late, though this seems like nothing in retrospect compared to the rest of the day. We got on a mini bus which we could was taking us to the pier to get the ferry, but instead it took us to a coach. We got on the coach and it turned out the coach actually went on the ferry as it was a much bigger one than previous. But the Thai do not communicate very well so we had no idea what was actually hapening! The ferry ride itself was actually pleasant enough and I managed to sleep most of the journey. We travelled to Koh Samui on Thursday, the ferry was much quicker barely seemed like we were on it any time at all! We spent the day on the beach, sun bathing, after all the activities on Koh Phangan it was good to just have a bit of time relaxing, not doing much, just soaking up the sun! I went for a little stroll up the beach to see what is around this was the first time I had any time by myself and it was nice and peaceful. Later we went for food, all the restuarants here seemed a lot more up market compared to what we have been used to in Thailand so far. On Monday we got the ferry to Koh Phangan, it was only an hour long and a much better trip. We had a bit of a mix up when we got here by going to the wrong resort but we soon got it fixed. It was a bit of a shame that we weren't staying at this resort as we met 3 Welsh girls here from Llanelli and Uplands, but our resort is also nice. It is right on the beach, literally step out of our door and the sand is at our feet!! The wii-fii also works on my phone here so that makes me very happy! :) Tonight was very chilled out and peaceful, the resort is very quiet and calm, actually never felt so relaxed. On Friday we left Bangkok to travel to an island in the gulf of Thailand called Koh Tao. The journey was horrendous, a 12 hour overnight bus ride and the a ferry to the island! Sea sickness is now my new worst emeny! We have 5 more ferries to catch over the next 2 weeks so really need to try and get something for it or there will be lots of bad times ahead :( On the plus side Koh Tao is so lovely. On sat afternoon we sunbathed under coconut trees the beach on our resort is very small and private, it is a lovely changed from Bangkok!! Arrived in Bangkok on Monday, the flight was not too bad! Slept as much as I could and watched two films. The food was weird as I had to have vegan meals, so missed out on the cheesecake that Anwen got to it and later yoghurt. When we arrived we sorted out all our transport and accommodation for the rest of Thailand as well as flights to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. We didn't do much tonight as we were so tired after two days travelling so got an early night fresh for tomorrow. Driving around Bangkok is mental. I am leaving for my round the world trip in 12 days, so I thought I would start an online blog so that my friends and family at home can follow my trip! All flights and major transportation are now organised as well as a few places of accommodation and I am starting to feel very excited!
