'Folk dance' Hi Cat, I would just like to congratulate you on your amazing journalistic powers. I was most interested to hear that sexual assault is rife in Peru. It has restored my faith in human nature. I also applaud your excellent pictures of said scene. I laughed a lot. Nearly as much as when earlier in these entries you chronicled, in pictures, the journal entry you were writing to your Bra.
Hurrah for Folk dance. Stay safe both of you. xxx
Veron Hi Nic - thought I`d make my first blog contribution a worthwhile one - it`s definitely Veron! He plays for Estudiantes in Argentina these days. Disappointed you didn`t get his autograph!
comment Loved your tango picture. Think should be your new facebook picture. Also what's the good of passing on all my advice if you ignore it. I have a lot you can ignore about Peru
Thank you Hey guys! Hope ur well. Cat, your postcard came this week, thank you so much. It looks amazing, all of it! I'm glad ur having a wonderful time! The pictures her of the volcano's are so cool too!! A postcard with a spitting blowhole would've been more my cup of tea. Haha...
Stay safe! Pete. xxx
I have to say Cath - i am impressed with your blog - maybe u r cleverer than me - very nicely written! Looks amazing. Tell Nic well done with the jump - there's no shame in being sick after that - i still can't go on a roundabout! Hope you continue to have fun
Pleased nic safely on land again. Also that you stuck to your guns and didn't join him. Report writing coming on leaps and bounds. I thought it was very descriptive.
Barmy army! Just a quick note to see how proud i am of u sis that you really captured the true spirit of an English cricket fan abroad - and the fact that England wern't playing and u managed to get that hammered that u passed out in the toilets - genius! Everyone is good here - little O is just about ready to walk - ive been putting lots of new pics on facebook. Hope u continue to enjoy the trip, stay safe Rich, Kat and Owen x
More than a bit of a comment You wrote very well and it was a colourful account. Thoughts- 1.You would not go on a donkey never mind an elephant.
2. Elf and safety/ Thailand dont seem to go together.
3. Remember the kite mark this includes food standards.
4. Do you get food poisoning from me? No, everything is well done.
5. That Nic would be the teacher's pet was never in doubt!
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas to you both!! Glad to see you getting in the festive spirit.
Just to say we'll miss you tomorrow but we will raise a toast. Hope you're having lots of fun. Keep updating us with all your adventures.
Lots of love, Hannah and Neil XXX
Hehe, Cat, with all due respect, are you writing a journal entry about that bra infront of you? Everyone needs a muse. Amazing pictures and stories so far.... xxx
Hey, your trip is looking great. Loving the blog, and im impressed to see cath using her journal! Everything is good here, nearly broken up for xmas hols. Look after yourselves and try and be a bit more choosy with your choices of transport - my mam is horrified! Take care, Rich, Kat and Owen x
Hoi Hoi!! This all looks amazing! I'm so glad I'm such a good stalker and managed to find out I could keep up with you both on this blog! I'm so glad you're having a good time so far; make sure the tailor compensates for the weight you're likely to lose in Thailand!! I came back a shadow of my former self; as you know Cat... Anyhow, I'll be looking out for the next instalment, nausea and all!
Stay safe you two. Pete. xxx
A bit of a comment Seeing Catherine might not venture to the computer again I'm loving you for updating regularly Nick. Still snowy! Love Cat's mum and dadxx
Hey guys,
Well after reading a mammoth blog about your plans to go travelling and the beautiful views of Bristol (?!), I eventually got to the exciting stuff...I as I'm sure everyone was pretty keen to know what you'd done despite the problems in Thailand. On the Wednesday morning, so the morning after you left, I was quite comfortably drinking my tea and eating my shreddies only to hear that the Bangkok airport had been shut. Only this could happen to you. I had images of Nick crumbling under the pressure that the plans had changed!! Good to hear that you've adjusted well...Singapore's probably quite a good intermediary place to start, efficient (as Nick's loving) like Britain yet gently lowering you into the Asian ways of life!! You'll love Vietnam!!
So good to hear from you, and like the others have said, I love the photos...again, not sure we'll get them throughout your travels as internet connection is probably at its fastest in a developed efficient place like Singapore!!
Looking forward to the next entry!
Charlie xx
Glad you have found a good alternative to your plans. It gives me and my colleague at TIC great pleasure in following your trip.
My colleague did something very like your trip back in the 60's !
looking forward to reading your next update.
love from Gran
Nic and Cat are off for six moths for an amazing trip around the world. We are putting the day jobs on hold, binning the mobile phones and taking off to venture where nobody has ever been before. Well, we'll stick to the main tourist routes, obviously.
This trip has been in our minds for the last couple of years and we've been planning it for about a year. We finally settled on a route, which will take us through the following countries before our return in May 2009 - just in time for the great British Summer!: Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia (Bali), Australia, New... full info
