Time has gone by quickly on this adventure of ours, before I knew it I was settled into a daily routine. Maybe wake up make some fresh dripped coffee, which I think I will continue in Pensacola, help mike with the garden, sit on the porch, having casual conversation, and watching the day come alive. Maybe we would venture down the hill into town and go swimming in Bidwell park, or climb rocks over at pergine park, or stay in forest ranch and explore one of the many trails they have. Either way it didn't matter I was able to spend most this time here with some of the coolest people. Props to Kaygan, Mike, Gary, Thurman, and anyone else who helped us on this trip. This has been something I always wanted to do and ... read more

Last time I left you we were just headed to Kansas to see Thurman and Domanic. The trip between MS, MO, AK, and KS SUCKED, expecially when your riding out like we were and hitting the back roads most the way. Most of the way being except through Nevada and Kansas, as long as you've spit in a field or been to a sandy beach then you've seen them states. The only city that was of interest was the lower side of Memphis, TN. Aside from Kansas sucking the visit was a blast. We pulled in late and Shawn had already fallen asleep, so he refused to get out of the car, we let him sleep in there. Thurman and I had the brilliant idea to have T run out and steal the car to scare ... read more

Something to enjoy about waking up early in the morning to some fresh dripped coffee and relaxation in the hammoc thats tied between some of the pines out front. We got here two days ago and already got to throw a disc over a 300' gorge, climb rapids, swim in under water caverns, see Peregrine Falcons, and learn how to cook some balling veggie only meals. But the first part of the trip wasn't exactly as smooth. The drive up and through Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi went smoothly. We pulled into Wall Doxey State Park near sunset that evening, it was sticky out, it had rained the night before. Mesquitos, Ticks, Sandflys, and any other flying creature you could imagine was in our campsite that night. Making the best out of it me Crystal, and shawn ... read more

The first night is always the oddest. You settle down in a strange log cabin tucked in the woods of a farming town. One main store down town. Nothing to hear outside but the creatures. It took 12 days, 11 states, 4 or 5 state parks, a night sleeping by a waterfall, and finally 2hrs of windy mountainous roads to reach our destination. This is going to be a mini travel blog to document some of my travels. For the moment this is just to get it started I'll update it in the following days about our trip. Enjoy. Night.... read more

I have made friends that hopefully will last long into my lifetime. I have done things and seen things I would have never imagined. I have seen the beauty of the ... read more

So I wanted to go see the Nauyaca waterfalls while I was here in Dominical, but I didn't want to pay he $40 dollar tour fee for the horses. This one time my cheap nature kicked my ass. Then again it was well worth it. We got up @6 and headed to the bus stop. Now I say bus stop it was more like a ricity bench that had tetnus writting all over it, so we stood next to it. Either way we had to head toward San Isidro on the bus and get off half way in between. Locating the signs we notified the bus driver and he let us off. About a half a mile more down the road was the entrance to where we were headed. So we walked. Bought our tickets for ... read more

Its about 6 oclock and I am sitting on an enormous tree in the middle of what is now a desolate stretch of rocks and wet black sand relfecting clouds above, otherwise known as a beach. Sitting there gazing into sky in front of me, clouds illuminated orange, blue and purple, waves crashing in the distance, and beams of gold shooting through the air. This was a sunset to beat all sunsets, close to the one I watched in keywest a few years back. Reminissing of the last two days events and remembering the joys I had on this trip thus far. Thoughts of being stranded at the bus station for 4hrs yesterday listening to the ever rotating groups of preachers that would post up when the crowd grew to standing capacity, or hords of dogs ... read more

So I am back n manuel antonio. well atleast I was I am heading to Uvita and Dominical today. But yesterday I was up at about 8 to head down to the national park and look around it forest. Loaded with my Murse(man purse) a towel and of course the heavy duty bug spray, which subsitutes as deoderant down here. Nothing like the aluring oder of some 50%deet to bring those crowds in. Either way I catch the bus to the beach shell out my 240 colones and ride out. Once at the main beach you take the first left to head toward the park entrance...if you can figure out which left it is follow the big signs that say NATIONAL PARK, should be a no brainer. Its about a mile down the road to the ... read more

Today was simply put a much needed blissful day..I cant describe the serinity that I felt today wandering by myself. Before I get into that thoughts have been running through and through. Ive found some of the views that I have long lost. I remember who I was and what drove me, aside from my chaotic ways, and FTW mentality. I want to come back to this country again. But the next time I come back I want to be able to communicate with the locals more then buenos diaz como estas and not be able to carry on from there. I want to be more then the gringo that is bringing them the little bit of money that I have, although helpful to them, not satisfying to me. I want to be that guy when ... read more

So I got into San Jose last night aftwe getting lost on the damn bus. I booked my bungee jump this morning. Got picked up @ around 750am...the dude drove me to another town where we reached the old colorado bridge. it is about 300 to 280 feet tall, you got about a 200 ft free fall before the rope snaps back on you. Well I get there and I am the only on there. The guy said that it was to early for the crowd. But he lead me out to the bridge and started to strap me up. there was a small waist harness and then these two heavy duty anklestraps which is where my bungee was attached to. The waist harness was attached to the ankles, as a back up incase the ankles ... read more
