In contrast to the pestilence that is oppressing itself upon the people of Victoria it has been another amazing week here in New York City, we pounded the pavement all weekend in an attempt to get maximum benefit of our New York Passes and managed to do a tour of St johns Cathedral, the largest in the world (what here isn’t), NBC Studios, a food on foot tour where we sampled various local delicacies and picked up some hot restaurant tips, visited the Intrepid Sea and Air museum, went to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and the 9/11 memorial. So great to finally be back to new york city, the big apple, the city that never sleeps, and so far it has lived up to all of its names, I haven’t really slept yet and I have been indulging in large quantities of apples to keep me awake and also keep my nutrients up in order to support my new favourite habit, dunkin donuts. Call me weird but combining my two favourite things, mediocre coffee and sugar saturated, fat infused baked goods really works wonders for the soul, cant believe that I had never tried this before. With the constant changing of timezones the last few days have felt like a week, because it probably has been, although because of the time zones it is only Monday. Have spent the most amount of time one can spend in Los Angeles, which was around 23 hours. Most of this time consisted doing cliched touristy tacky things, like hiking to the hollywood sign, and doing a very very amusing hollywood homes tour which featured the tour guide yelling at the general public with a megaphone and abusing other tour operators, needless to say i tipped him. I think his name was ricki and he is on youtube apparently. We then lamely attempted to see the Beach Boys at the Hollywood Bowl. Welcome to my travel blog, or maybe traveller blog as I suggest reading it with a traveller as it might make more sense. I envisage that i will be populating this baron area of the interwebs with numerous humerous anecdotes and tales of supreme bravery and adventure that will leave you, the reader, breathless due to the amounts of adrenaline being pumped through your veins as you hang onto each word for dear life while you scramble for a pen so that you can sign me up for that next blockbuster ala into the wild, hopefully with a little less canibalism and slightly more beer consumption.
