JM: I’m sure we were quite a vision this morning walking down Comanche street with our luggage. We passed by the First Baptist Church and waved to the nice old men that stand outside to welcome worshippers. AM: We left our house this morning, walked down Comanche St. to get to the Norman Train Depot, which is also an art gallery now- there’s a really nice death mask that from the right point of view looks like Hitchcock’s birds. It is such a pleasure to leave the daily rut of the road that middle America just can’t get past. I read this past week about the construction of the new crosstown highway in Oklahoma City that will destroy OKC’s great railyard, and with it, the potential for future rail travel in the area.
