We miss you!! I loved this blog entry -- you share an interesting perspective on the people and culture that we haven't seen previously.
I hope you have an absolutely FABULOUS time with dad and sis.
We love you, our wild adventurous niece!!
AMAZING Hey Moira. School just ended for me, so I am catching up on things I've been missing out on...today was Moira's blog day. I just spent allll morning reading every single entry and it's truly amazing! It made me miss you, miss Carlisle (a little..more like the people from there), miss traveling, miss adventure, etc. etc. I can't wait until we can hang out again and catch up on our vastly different lives!!!
p.s. I never would have pegged you as a proficient motor-biker...go you!!!
killing fields rent the movie 'killing filelds' for a scary view of what happened under pol pot.
i'm gonna miss your blogs when you get back moira!
maybe you should keep them going as life in car-
lis-
le.
awesomeness Hi Moira!!! your dad told me you had a blog so I decided to check it out. your pictures look awesome and it sounds like youre having a fantastic time over there! I hope all is well...miss you!
(Hey Moira, I found you online! Isn't the internet amazing?)
When I found out you were in Vietnam (I think Jess Bylander told me around Christmas), I was simultaneously, "Woah!" and "Why doesn't that surprise me. It sounds totally Moira." I'm incredibly jealous of your adventures, vermin or not--it really takes a lot to pick yourself up and move across the world!
You wrote, "Second, I'm moving soon!!! Life here has gotten somewhat stagnant, and a change of scenery/location will help immensely." I think it's pretty incredible that you live in Ho Chi Minh and you have the same reaction over time to your environment that I do in Manchester New Hampshire.
That bites Ants?! Holy crap that sounds exotic! These journal entries are so cool. 'Is that really you halfway around the world kicking it working class in Ho Chi Minh?' I ask myself sometimes. Hold steady, Mo, you'll be back in the land of chain restaurants and beaver-skin caps in no time. And then you'll really be miserable.
Yearning for frisbee Reading about and seeing the pictures of your frisbee tournament makes me so jealous! Man, that sounds like such a fun tournament. I crave frisbee...
Your neighbor must be from the north. Contrary to most people think, majority of the Vietnamese don't eat dog especially budhist and people NOT from the north. I know this because I am Vietnamese....I don't think I can have dinner tonight after seeing just one picture of the skinned dog.
oh hell MOIRA, YOU HAVE FINALLY DONE IT. Exposing the vietnameses for what they are. lol. To be fair, we in US don't normally doing our own butchering, so if anyone felt this is barbaric, just go check out the slaughter house. Now, instead of cow, pig, chicken replace it with dog, cat. :). I must add most vietnameses don't eat these critters and one that do usually involve alcohols. I m ready to turn vegetarian. lol
hi Hi Moira, I am a big fan of yours and Marta's blog.
I am vietnamese but never consider eating those critters. You gals are one up on me. Who says western chics are weak at heart or may be you two are just plain crazy. lol
nonewhatsoever i really liked the comparison city/lover. there is something to be said about places that have such a great personality that they influence your life in small daily details. great cities do that to me too - i have my life but i MUST also participate in the city's life. there's another dimension there... and if the city has a powerful personality i get to dispute my agressive/passive mix. i think, though, that more than a relationship, this type of interaction reveals more about me because there's no dialogue!
Sassy! Dear Mo,
Quite a sassy blog indeed! Finished up a good frisbee season, moving on to snowboarding - as the time flies by. Good luck.

haleluya that shrine is so freaky... i would probably not be able to speak at my normal volume in the house, affraid i'd bother the dead. and what's that lock there?
Old Men to the Rescue! Wowzers, that is what the big city life will get you, an old man saved me here once too, even if he was a drunkard. But beware, that is what the big city life will get you! Here my biggest fear is being hit by a tractor or an oxcart. But, to each his own.
the sass dont let anybody get ya down, you know you got love from all of the mealtime assassins, especially when you have a sassy cut. Hope everything keeps looking up for you, I love the travelblog.
