Mission India 2011

We are sitting in the lobby of our final hotel, all packed and set to go. Heading to Paul and Roni's house for dinner before we go to the airport for our 5:30am flight. We will have to be at the airport by 3am or so for the international flight. 10-1/2 hours to London with a 5 hour lay-over, then 8-1/2 to Chicago with a 3 hour lay-over before we head to the D. Hey Guys! 2 days ago we said our good byes to all of our brothers and sisters in Coimbatore. We had an amazing time there. God also blessed us with a special treat in that it Coimbatore was about 10 degrees cooler than the previous cites and it was less humid :) On our last day there we had an all Kerala staff meeting. That was a great treat, because it gave us a chance to once again see all of the church leaders we had spent time with in the weeks prior. The entire Kerala staff wanted to make sure that we pass on their love and appreciation for the Detroit Church Disciples! Hello Family, Yesterday we said our goodbyes to our brothers and sisters in Cochin and left for Coimbatore. It is amazing how in just a couple of days we are able to connect with disciples so deeply. I really want to share with you how proud I am of our single disciples on this team. They have been incredibly giving and inspiring to the singles in India. On Sunday afternoon they led a time of life sharing with the single disciples from Cochin. After that, in true Detroit style, they taught them the "Gospel Slide" and the "Cupid Shuffle". The singles had a blast and it was so good for them to see disciples having fun with one another and laughing. We took some video that we can share with you all when we get home. ... read more

Hey Fam, It's Chad. . . or as it's translated in Malayalam, JUMP! My name means jump. . .hmmm. I'm starting to miss home. . . a little : ) Every town we go to seems more and more loving and giving. Hey im in Cochin, I think its super awesome that one of the bros from kottayam came to visit his bro and the rest of us from the team---just 2 continue the fellowship. I was super encourage b/c we come from the same mother b/c he is a Michael Jackson fan just like me.... but on a more spiritual note: im excited w/being on the team b/c there are 4 disciples (including myself) that was baptized in the year of 2006, that's so cool the way God created this team 2gether w/our senior citizens (tim, collin and chad)...lol... Greeting from Cochin! We just got back to the hotel from Sunday service, amazing time of singing, fellowship and hearing Gods word. Tomorrow we will be heading to Coimbitore int he afternoon. That will be our final stop before headng back to Chennai and then home. Our days have been getting longer and longer in each city we visit. Often not getting back till 930pm, eating till 1030 and then straight to sleep. Most of our days start with a devo over breakfast and then heading out to visit disciples homes. We are often going into massive developments to a tiny cynder block house consisting of two or three rooms, one of those bein a kitchen the others bedrooms/living quarters. No house has fewer that three people living there, most often a family of six. Very ... read more
