Enjoying your epic journey Hi Becky,
Have been meaning to check out your blog for some weeks now and so glad I finally got to it! How interesting the entries you made on SE Asia. Great selection of photos depicting life in Vietnam. I liked your description of the tunnels system- very intriguing, the shot of the Fairy Stream and lovely picture by the watherfall. Were you tempted by the snake whisky?!
I have been talking to some of the children at school about your blog entries.
Well, I Hope you enjoy your ongoing journey and new experiences.
Keep well, see you back home safely soon!
Love Janet
Vietnam photos Wow! They are amazing photos! Love the Elephant waterfall. The children photos you described during the war sounded very sad. The Mekong river was interesting. Enjoy your diving and tell us more about Hanoi! Take care & lots of love xxx
Fantastic! These are just what we're waiting for. I've taken South America of your wall now, leaving a gap in anticipation of South East Asia's arrival.
Oh how I laughed when I read the part about the 'durian' it reminds me of a quote in 'Travelling on a Shoestring'.You're summer holidays will never be the same again. What an amazing, amazing experience.
Ah Becks, it's bringing back so,so, many memories. You haven't mentioned the juice, you must try if you haven't already. How much was the accommodation? I'm in happy land.
Hmmmmm juice. We have tried 2 types. One was a weird fruit that looked a bit like a pear on the outside but was harder and had small seeds. I don't know the name but it was yummy. And I have fallen in love with Limau ice! It's basically lime juice squeezed and heated with water and sugar then ice cubes out in it. (Well I think that is how they make it)! It is super refreshing in the humidity though! And our accomodation was 350 Baht each per night in an 8 bed dorm. So it's super cheap but the hostel is a little bit more out of the way which is why it was cheaper. The one we stayed in to start with was 450 Baht each but was more central!!! The budget is starting to look ok again! xxxx
Thanks! We will try our hardest. We are still having a great time as so far har been healthy throughout!!! Lets hope it continues. Hope everything is Ok with you? xxxxxx
