maeda flats
Hey, it's me again. This is one of our favorite spots snorkelling left of maeda point. We follow the road to the left for about a half mile then walk down through the cane field to the beach. Do you live here in Okinawa?

How Nice
How nice it is to be in Oki! I remember the huge tug of war. Are you going to do the dragon boat race?

Tug of War Rope Pull
Wow, I think it was a great idea that you chose to capture the event as a spectator this time, rather than a participant, since you have done that already. I learned something new about the event too. I did not realize the golden ball was the center marker or that the participants helped sew the rope together! Thanks for a very interesting narrative!

Oki Paradise
This brought back so many memories for me and just what a beautiful place Okinawa is. I would rather go to Oki than Hawaii any time. The other beautiful thing about it is the Okinawan people, so courteous and gracious. I want to go back!!! Thank you Mishka for this interesting part of your Oki travels - I do not believe I saw these formations when I was there.

New York, New York
I really want to go to New York, I hope the next time you go you will get to see a play on Broadway and maybe give us your impressions of Greenwich Village.

Scaffolds
I might have a picture with me in it that I can send to you...let me look. The prices weren't too bad but nothing was dirt cheap. The Japanese tourists were buying up a lot of electronics and such because it is much cheaper than Japan's prices but not really cheaper than American prices at least for that kind of stuff.

Hong Kong Construction
I am amazed that the scaffolds are of Bamboo construction, but I know it is very strong. If you have a picture of that, I am sure it would be fun and interesting to see also. What were the prices like in Hong Kong for goods. Just curious...

very powerful
You can see the power of these falls from your photos - you will have to add a wet trip next time you visit, so we can really get the feel of the water. Very impressive!

Michigan and the locs
How interesting! I would love to see the great lakes someday although I will probably stay in a motel rather that fight the insects! Wow, I have never heard coyotes, that will be a sound you will never forget. Thanks for sharing this with all of us!

Mt Fuji Climbing
Yeah, you can hike all the way up there. It takes anywhere from 4 1/2 hours to 8 hours depending on how fast you go and where you start. Most people start at Station 5 and go up from there. I have stamps from all the stations we went through, just not the ones above where we ended up turning around. When you come down you are on a completely different trail, and you don't go through any of the stations. I think that is to keep up traffic moving without having to worry about down traffic.

The hiking
Wow. I didn't know you could just hike up to the top of Mt. Fuji! I bet it is amazing. Although I would imagine it must be a difficult hike. When you came back down, did you stop at the stations you had previously missed? I'm the obsessive type and would want ALL the stamps. :) Although it sounds like such a cool keepsake to bring back.
