I agree with most of your assessment. I think when people have said it has no story, they are referring to the lack of book. It's just different lingo in the theatre world. You were right, the sex scene didn't bother me. In fact, I barely noticed it since it was in the middle of a "and it's beginning to snow" type scene. I found myself comparing it to Rent quite often. Whatshername was so 21st century Mimi. I connected to the music instantly, not just because I knew it and already loved it but because it resonated on a different level in that setting. I wish I could have connected with the characters in the same way but where was there time to do that?
Hi Mindy!I enjoyed reading ^^ I wondered how you're doing since you haven't visited Stacy's quite long time and it seems like you are well doing travel. Good to know :) Stay well and stop by there from time to time.
FDR Memorial/Vietnam Memorial Oops--I read your other post before this one and wala! You actually did go to the FDR memorial! I knew we had similiar tastes. I do however, find the Vietnam Memorial very moving--mainly because it was the first "new" memorial to be built after Lincoln, Jefferson etc. Something about the graceful rise and fall of the cold stone tablets along the pathway. I wonder what it was like to be a young person during that time with a mandatory draft. I can't imagine young people today being sent off to war with no choice (unless you could get an excuse with money, family connections, or going on for higher education). Did you go to the Holocaust Museum? That is another amazing institution. When I was in DC last, we had some great food in the Adams-Morgan area. Check the area out next time you go back.

Ms Schwartz Goes to Washington Hi Mindy,
Another great blog post. Sounds like you enjoyed your time there. I wonder if you made it to the FDR Memorial. There is a great quote there that I love. I read it again in March this year when I was in DC.
"I see one-third of a nation ill-housed, ill-clad, and ill-nourished. The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little." Second Inaugural Address, Washington, D.C., January 20, 1937.
Sounds Interesting! Hi! Mindy, Thank you for sharing your latest adventure with me! It sounded so interesting and educational. So many things to see and do! I must try and visit Washington DC some day!
I love your pictures! It sounds like you had a good time, and took a good tour. I enjoyed reading your account of everything. I hadn't known there was a train to Washington from NY. When I went, I took Greyhound (ew).
Hooray!!! Welcome back Missy. We had a wonderful trip (considering I was obviously with you every step of the way(cheese!!!). I look forward to those pics. Sooooooo...when is the next plane ride? Smooches and I'll see ya back at work chickie!!!
Welcome home! Good to see you made it back in one piece! I've been spot-checking the blog, but will have to go back and read over them again once you get the pictures up... :-)
Proof The only way that you have proof that you made it to the top is if there are pictures with you in them. Otherwise, you have proof that your camera made it to the top . . . . On the other hand, I trust you.
