Congratulations on nearing the end of your fourth year. Your comments on how much Wuhan has changed in that time are startling. China is reaching out to the rest of the world and western businesses are responding. I hope it doesn't become overwhelmed by the CocaCola/BigMac and the like or soon it will be the same as every other city centre in the world, which would be a shame. Glad you're still enjoying the teaching (apart from the marking mountain). xx
Glad to hear.... Glad to hear you are doing well........I had begun to wonder! Carole and I are continuing wiith our umptieth year selling candles & christmas.....not much has changed except some new buildings in the 'Port too....the landing has been replaced by something of the maximum allowable size and across from HB Provisions is the new "Grande" retail - restaturant - hotel combination
Thanks for the update, we always like to hear what you are doing. Busy summer at the CC continues. Betty is out for a quick gall bladder surgery...should be back soon........Bruce
America Yay! How long does it take until you're actually in America and Maine and stuff. Is your family picking you up from the airport? I'm so excited to see you Shannon!
Blog for your friends You know, if you want people not to worry about you, posting once a month would be nice. Glad things are going well. And remember, even though it seems routine to you, there's still stuff that's new to us...
Good to get an update from you......All your friends in Maine miss you..........Congrats on 'Teacher of the Year'.................Happy Thanksgiving.......Bruce, Carole, and Betty
I'm really pleased for you that you have your immediate future sorted out and that you're happy with it. Odd to think that as you start your new teaching year, I'll be retiring. All the best.
Relief of your Tai Chi Choice Shannon,
Please know you are very missed at the holidays most of all. Love to read your blog and glad to see you found the thing in life that makes you happy. I will admit your family is very relieved to hear of your choice to take Tai Chi and most important of where you will practice it. LOL. Have a very Merry Christmas and an awsome New Year. Look forward to reading your blogs in 2010. Much love Aunt Liz
Season's Greetings Do you get snow? We haven't had proper sticking- to- the- ground- for- more- than- a- day snow for about 18 years, in this part of the UK, but we have this year. It started a week ago and, although not very deep, shows no sign of melting away. Real White Christmas!
All the best for 2010 (What's that in Chinese years?)
Kath xx
Rereading old entries, and leaving a note to point out that the place I thought was East Lake at the time, wasn't. It was just a normal park near the school
Glad you enjoyed Bejing.......The closest I've been is Hong Kong, which you said you visited.... the density of the skscrapers wedged between the mountains and the harbor was incredible.....the over the top 'light shows' on the buildings at night were a bit ostentatious....and the hotel rooms were the size of doormats in other cities.....Enjoy!!! Bruce
I'm a twenty-four year old woman, teaching English at Wuchang Experimental Primary School, in Wuhan, China. I've been living in China for a little over a year so far, and I still love it. Here you can find my (very sporadically updated) adventures living and traveling around China.... full info
