What a nice surprise Michelle to read you after all this time!! I add your link post to the new web of ARTE JONDO in Facebook. I hope I'll continue to read you there! So many things where are doing now!!
Wishing you the best!
Diana, your flamenco "teach" ;)
What a great week! My favorite part of the week was getting to spend time with Aleks - I wish he could have gone with us to Puyo!
My favorite photo is the one of Aleks with Martha in the background. She looks like she's in a separate universe, even though she's only a few yards away.
Keep them coming;-) Chellio, you are the best writer. I love reading your blogs and looking at the pictures. What amazing experiences. I look forward to reading more. You could totally write for a travel magazine or book. You are the best!
Next installment Wow, what a fasinating "voyeur voyage" on a bus. I loved the picture of the elderly lady and her bright skirt; who is she observing so intently? Not very fair of you to leave us hanging with "I promised I would call...."
I loved your scary stories and am glad the back pack was all you had stolen. The coke fighting crime is a great caption and picture.
Looking forward to more stories from Ecuador.
I know you are coming back today... But, I thought I would add a thought anyway. You are so freaking talented, it is amazing. Not only is your writing spectacular but your photos really could and should be submitted for public viewing. When you get back you should really think about blowing some of them up and putting them up in a coffee shop.
WOW ONCE AGAIN...FABULOUS...CANT WAIT TO SEE FLAMINGO IN PERSON...YOU WILL HAVE TO LEARN TANGO TOO....YOU LEARN EVERYTING SO QUICKLY...ANOTHER GREAT TRAVEL BLOG...YOU WILL HAVE TO RETURN AGAIN AND TO OTHER LOCATIONS AND DISCIPLINES...OOPS BAD SPELLING I THINK....ANYWAY ITS GREAT...WILL SEE YOU SOON....MORE BLOGS I HOPE
Bravo Wonderful and what a surprise! I knew you were taking lessons but had no idea you would be generous (confident enough) to share your lessons with your humble readers. As you know, I cannot dance and don't dig music that much but you make some very valid points about the importance of both in our lives. Again I can almost hear the clap, clap, stomp, stomp. I get a little lost when it goes to the Tae ti ca but sounds intriguing! Great discriptions and pictures as usual. I love the big black skirt and you must give a demo when you come home to us.
Yea for Paris!!! What a great blog and a great weekend! You´re pictures always come out so much better than mine, but oh well. I think I´ll just send all my friends to read ur blog since it´s so much better than mine. I´m ready for our next adventure, Barcelona!!!!!!!
Ah Paris in Springtime I love this blog and the insights about the Ugly Americans and ones who are treated with respect because of the way they travel in another country. I also liked the cow, the bird whisperer, the raindrops on the lovely rose, the great shot at step 534 of the Eiffel Tower AND the lovely headed wingless goddess of travel! I am a fan of the DaVinci Code so it was very interesting that the Louvre is participating with a travel guide! I'll be anxiously awaiting your take on Barcelona.
ive been there but this is the best fantastic...your best blog yet...i've missed a couple i think but the is wonderful...love the pix...and the dialog too....dad
wonderful! That is great that you were able to go to Paris for the weekend. You are really making me want to go to Europe! We'll have to all travel together when the kids are a little older!
As you will see... Fashion is about 2 years ahead in Spain. Just wait. Like my experience there, a few seasons later, I started seeing some of the fashions that I saw in Madrid in Colorado. Then again, Colorado isn't exactly a fashion mecca - unless you consider extruded polyvinyl shoes (AKA Crocs) fashion.
I have to visit Michelle, spain sounds exactly like the life style I live. I party til the early am and go to work on time. This is definitely a place I need to look into going. thanks for the picks and info. it was awesome!!!! word!
¡Me encanta tu blog!
Muchos besos
Excelent post I must 'felicitarte' for this brilliant portrait of Spaniards. In some points I agree and in some others I don't but 'en general' I admit you made a sharp work. And not only writting. Your bunch of apparently random pictures is (unconciously?) a valuable depiction of current Spain: inmigration, overpriced houses, economic growth and a sort of social relief after years of 'european' adjustment. Your 'Clandestino' is worth the World Press Photo Award-btw I love that song-. If I had to define 'Spain in a single picture', that would be your 'Amigas'. Hablando de otra cosa, its true that when spaniards (and europeans) think of americans we think in Schwarzeneggers or Bushes instead of George Clooney or Tom Hanks. Thats a pity........Qué pasa, qué pasa, queremos más blogs!!!!! :))))
fabulous Your friend was correct in the advice! I love people pictures, stories and customs. Architecture, paintings and natural landscapes are wonderful too but the people are so now and so interesting. you are a real pro with the camera and the descriptions!
VUNDERBAR VUNDERBAR...I'M SO GLAD YOU MOVED AND ARE HAVING THE WONDERFUL TIME YOU SO RICHLY DESERVE....AND VUNDERBAR FOR THE GREAT TRAVEL LOGS.....KEEP EM COMING....I LOVE EM AND YOU TOO OF COURSE.
Good call, hoss. I am very proud of you, too. It is difficult to make decisions like that but I think you did the right thing in leaving an abusive situation.
HOP SKIP AND A JUMP YESSSS, it was time for a 'move'. No need to keep fueling her power. Sounds like she had you mixed up with the kids (you do look young!) and felt it her right to boss you around. I hope Belen and Pedro make some moves before the next unsuspecting Interexchange visitor arrives. Right 'CHOICE'!!
Hellz Yeahz! You can do that? Oh wait- I forgot- you're an adult and can do whatever the hell you want. Michelle, you rock! You did the right thing. For god's sake no one should have to take that shit. Maybe Regina's "enablers" will learn a lesson from you too. life is too damn short to be bullied everyday- especially when you're on vacation! And now you can spend the rest of your days according to your own schedule to boot. I like the sound of that.
I'm killing a few months between grad school and med school. I'm staying with a family in Madrid, teaching them English in exchange for room and board. Good deal, eh?... full info
