Smells Thanks Janette but I do not think you would like the majority of the smells. At our 'bus stop' sometimes Michelle feels sick - rats and sewerage.
Thankyou Thankyou for letting me view your blog. I Aways look forward to this and love to read your very honest opinion on where ever you go. I can almost smell the aromas from the food market, hear the traffic and chat in the streets, feel the sea air on my face and the warmth of the sun. I also love all your photos. Wonderful read.
Holidays Hi Michelle
Blimey - that guy at the ferry sounded an absolute bundle of laughs...... at least the italians smile and are pleasant..... I am having a day off today - the others have gone to capri for the day, but I decided my own company was preferrable. I took the courtesy coach into sorrento this morning, and I have been lazing about the hotel for the rest of the day. we head south from here tomorrow then start the long journey north the day after. I cant wait to get home. Ive had enough of holidays..... Isnt that terrible?
I hope you finally got out of the traffic jam and met your friends at Munich.
Love Sue xxx
Fantastic Looks fantastic. John and I finally settled on France to relax after the silver wedding celebrations - we are staying at La Croix du Vieux Point - which I think you know as Paris was extremely expensive for September. We will go in a couple of days by train.

Wow! Hi, you two.
Just caught up with all your blogs. You seem to be having a fantastic time. We are really jealous. Apart from 3 weeks skiing - we have nothing planned, though are thinking of going back to India in the autumn. Have enjoyed being snowed in. It's great when you don't have to go to work - or actually do anything!! Melting rapidly today though. Having a get-together at the weekend for my 60th birthday - where did the time go??
Well keep enjoying yourself! Life's short. take care of each other
Lots of love

Also currently in Phnom Penh I went to the killing fields and s-21 two days ago. It has affected me deeply. The heart of darkness indeed. It was the photos of the faces that got to me more than anything else. You can see the fear, confusion and dispair on their faces. The children must have been terror struck. I was reminded of Cambodians I have met recently. Apparently the children were not tortured merely processed and sent to the killing fields, usually within about 3 days. It is estimated that around 17,000 individuals were processed-there are 7 known survivors. What makes this different to Auscwitz is this was Cambodians killing Cambodians.
What I also find upsetting is the fact that so few of the perpertrators have been subjected to any kind of trial.
I am also very upset to discover that the US and its allies gave support to the Khymer Rouge because they were against Vietnam.
NomPen.......!! Glad despite the horrors you still enjoyed the trip. Did you have a good New Year. Will wait to see the "horror" pictures when you get back. Glad you didn[t put them on the blog. Where to now?
Happy New Year from Eric and Rita Hi Michelle and Terry,
We have just logged on for the first time to your travel blog. A very happy 2010 on your travels. It's obvious you are really enjoying your trip apart from the tunnels ! The pictures look fantastic, we bet you are glad that your old camera was not suitable for a 40 degees wash ! Lot of history and culture for you to soak up, great.
We have really enjoyed our Christmas, lots of good walks and delicious food and drink To-day its snowing quite heavy,
great for all the sledgers. Looking forward to our snow ski holiday, just waiting for a good deal.
We are now the proud owners of a Wii, and are having a lot of laughs with the balance games.
Love from Eric and Rita xx
Saigon at Christmas Sounds like you had a brilliant Christmas. As you know, we had a white one (well our here muggy and sandy coloured!
Its raining today so I think you are in the best place. Where to next? Do have a great New Year. Looking forward to next report. Wish we were there, we love markets. Love Chris xx xx
Wow! Wow! You seem to be having a fantastic time. When we stayed in Chang Mai the hotel had a fire and the town was flooded. Glad you had no mishaps.
We are back from our sojourn in the States. Fantastic scenery!! - but we do prefer places where the cuture is different to our own. Mind you the culture of service in the US goes down very well!
No more holidays for us for a while except skiing.
Take care.
Love Di and Mick xx
