Thinking of you Mary, Most of the Gibson staff was at a retreat on Thursday the 10th. We saw the news and word got out quickly that you were supposed to be on your way home. We were all concerned and Mr. Watts asked us to remember you in our prayers. I hope you arrived home safely today. I noticed that you will be in NC on Tuesday. Hope you will come by and see us at Gibson.
be safe! So you are coming home at last! I have enjoyed all of your blogs and you are such a great writer. HOW do you know Leslie Stoprya? They go to my church! Maddie is a card! I had her all week for VBS. SO where will you work? I just got home from a trip to fla.. just drove 13 hrs in a van with 3 kids, 2 pups and pulling a uhaul trailor. You arent the only one having a rough day! LOLOL
We Said A Prayer for You Wow! You seem to come and go at the brink of terrorists' acts - I remember that last Summer was the time you were getting ready to leave the USA and Britain had the attacks and we were all worried about you then...Thursday morning after the Gibson group was boarding the bus at the retreat we had in Emeraold Isle, Mr. Watts told us you were to head back home - you were in our thoughts then as well!!!
What a true survivor you are! Obviously, you've had some real guardian angels watching over you!!!
Where will you be working this year?
As you may know, I retired in July...hoping to do part-time somewhere after Christmas...
When you are "an old woman, and you wear purple" you will look back on all these fantastic memories and be happy!!!
hope you make it back safely hi Mary,
I hope you are not too inconvienced today and that you make it back safely. my inlaws are flying back to manchester today and they are experiencing similar delays. I will miss your adventures in england. i love living vicariously! : ) if it makes you feel better, i'm back at work now and my kids start on monday.
You made it!! After all of your hilarious and maybe not so fun adventures in Europe you made it!!! I am so glad that you were able to experience all of your travels and adventures...I meant to email you and tell you thanks for my post card...it was so thoughtful....I can't believe it's coming up on a year that I was there it feels like just yesterday. And now you're coming home and jumping back into life and work in the states. Thanks again for all of your help last year...you'll never know how much I appreciated it. So stay safe...and I'll pray for your safe arrival in Columbus on Saturday. I look forward to hearing from you soon...Oh, now that you're back in the states maybe we can orchestrate a little UNCG reunion...we'll see. Mya
Safe! I saw the news early this morning and was worried about you. Glad to hear you are safe! What a scarey experience. Tell those pilots you are precious cargo and to fly quickly and safely home to the USA!
Just a note. Leslie and Jason Stopyra had their 3rd baby, Morgan. She has had alot of problem with reflux and aspirating. They left the hopspital yesterday after being there a week. She might want to get ahold of you to help her. They are seeing a slp right now and have done the swallow study. Just wanted you to be up to date when you arrive in NC. Send us all your info once you get settled.
TRAVEL SAFELY!!!!!!!!! MUCH LOVE, SHEL
Hello From Gibson I am glad that you are safe at this point! Take your time! Your adventures sound so exciting. Are you working/where - upon return? My classroom is 85 F. for the 4th day. I don't mind working for free, but the temp. is killing me. . . perhaps I have lost weight because of it.
My biggest news currently is that my 30 yr.old ,Kevin, and his wife are expecting a DAUGHTER in Nov. Keep in touch and I will be praying for your safe return home. Cathy Kiser
I'll miss these What a treat to finally make time to look at your blog entry. You are having an amazing trip! Loved the pix. Actually sang with my college choir in St. Mark's Square years ago. Of course, our choir director got hauled off to jail because he neglected to get a permit. :-( We stayed at a convent -- not quite like what you experienced. It will be so good to see you in August!

Mary, you rock And honestly, I'm glad we are only going to be traveling to places you are VERY familiar with... I just don't think I could handle all the missed trains and wrong information the way you did. So glad you ended up seeing a beautiful place and the people at the hotel were so kind to you. Anytime you're ready to set up house in Italy, I'm there!! See you soon :)
Update on family directory Don't forget, since I went and married that cousin of yours (Randy of course), I'm now *Mrs.* Kelly Rowles. (the 2nd one right? How does Derek's Kelly spell her name?)
when in rome.... hey mary, i'm so happy you're visiting italy...just a few tips, the weather will not be what you want it to be no matter what....but at least you are not freezing to death camping out in an actual tent on a hillside in florence. it will at least be warm if you decide to do that. also...make sure you buy tickets for all buses or any other kind of transportation and make sure you VALIDATE them. we learned the hard way and paid 45 euro fines. bad idea when you're on a tight budget. ok so when you go to rome....you have to find this pizza place. if you go to see the sisteen chapel it is on the same street. more than likely the line will be going down the street and then wrapping around the corner. so instead of wrapping around the corner just keep going down the street. about half a block down there's this little shop that sells pizza, and then they put the squares in the oven and heat it up and then you can eat downstairs in the basement. seriously the best pizza i had in italy. and believe me i ate a lot of pizza there. ok i hope you have a good trip and try to get some pizza at that shop if you can. sorry i have no idea what the name is. have fun, love you. can't wait for u to get home!!!
school trip I'm also leaving for austria- but in 19 days. I am going to be staying at the same hostel as you were in only...i'm going to be in a room with 7 other people.....thank you for the comments they really did help..
ps-if rach could comment back and tell me if the rock concert is still on...
AUSTRIA I'm going to Austria 2morrooww!! goin with school and were staying in the same hostel and going on sound of music tour etc. seemingly theres going to be 6 people in a room so we'll see how that goes :s
anyway i love rock music so hopefully the concert will still be on
