Careful there Dougie!
Remember life is but the slowest form of death. As I recall you may have a gray hair or two. Had you joined us (dig intended) you may have brought downt he median age of the group. Turned out I was the oldest.

Kylemore!
Hi Mark- I've only been to Ireland once and have to say that Kylemore Abbey was the most memorable part of my trip - thanks for bringing back such a great memory! Sounds like you're having a ball!

Congratulations!
Doesn't the car seem really easy and fast now? Enjoy the rest of your journey.

My Home
Wow lads, best of luck with the trip, I'm Irish (live abroad) Hope you have the long Johns and the extra rain jackets, watch out for mental sheep and tractor drivers who like to take up all the road and drive at 3 m/p/h, Oh and the guinness is pretty good as well (just in case you hadn't heard). Enjoy because the craic is mighty

Glad you made it!
Nothing looks better than seeing you lodgings at the end of a ride. I will drink a Guinness in your honor. I love the first Gaelic phrase. Awaiting to more.

Tenterhooks.
I am on tenterhooks awaiting the outcome of the day's ride. I can hardly wait to hear what happened next. Jeanne

forgot to tell you
Mark, I forgot to tell you the most important thing: bike trips are all about suffering. Enjoyed your post, looking forward to the rest of the story. Hope the weather gets better.

Some hiking suggestions
Hey Mark and Geoff. Im glad that you are excited about your upcoming trip to the Emerald Isle! I see that you are considering hiking Mark. May i offer some suggestions? If you will be in Wicklow, you should check out Sally Gap. It is a great place and it is near a lake that has water as dark as ink!. In County Clare, check out the Burren. It's a limestone landscape with little vegetation worth speaking of. It's almost like being on another planet! Also in Clare are the Cliffs of Moher. They are spectacular! If you guys will be in Dublin, the Dublin mountains are very popular with hikers also. Hopefully what i've posted is of some help to you folks! Enjoy your travels! -Mike

Hey Mark, Thanks for the update. To be truthful I am walking and biking more for health reasons with a sidenote to be at least semi-fit for the bike ride. I may eat my words here, but I don't think 30 miles per day will be to bad, I've done a couple of 10-20 mile rides which take an hour to two to complete. Keep in mind we have all day to putte along. Connemara and Redbreast Whiskey are my pursuits along with some local music.

Lamb so cute!
I love those little pink ears! Been faithfully reading your blog but most often on my Droid so not inclined to leave messages. It's been a total delight so far - I feel like I'm there!
